The Old Fort is located in Stone Town on which is no longer near the sea. Reclaimed land pushed the fort more inland but is still in remarkable condition.

THe remains of a defensive fort. Not a lot is left and there are many souvenir shops. Worth noting the Girl Guide Association badge over one of the gates.

Free to visit. Inside is a event place and a lot of souvenir shops but they aren´t pushy to sell. That makes it a nice peaceful place.

This old fort houses a flea market in its grounds. Locals sell crafts and local dresses and handmade items. Some good bargains. A good way to support the locals especially the talented art works.

We were on a city tour of Stone Town and our guide took us to the Old Fort. Interesting place. Used for a flea market now.

Nice historical place that shows the anciant portuguese occupation. Latter the old chappel became a fort build by the Omanis. At the momment is used as a cultural place for events.

A bit disappointed with the fort as it is an empty shell with a few shops inside. Needs some renovation.
