I booked a singo scrub after an extremely long day and was pleasantly surprised. I loved that the scrub gave me a glimpse into a longstanding Zanzibari beauty ritual that left my skin soft and fragrant. The ladies who worked there were very helpful, and I loved the gift shop, where I bought some singo scrub and other little goodies... More

I spent some time shopping for presents here as they sell brilliant natural products. The next day I had a one hour massage by Aisha. She was great, firm and gentle. ($45 but as many mentioned before we had to pay in cash as the connection didn't work.) I think the place is beautiful. The interior is old and crumbly... More

Luckily I got a same day booking and it was totally worth it. The staff were friendly, they had special prices for Tanzanians and the ambiance was very cozy. Zuber was my masseur and he very professional. Taking in to account that he was hard of hearing, he did a excellent job at noticing my body language and adjusting the... More

I really wish I could give Mrembo Spa five stars as it's the most authentic/traditional massage parlour in Stone Town and supports disability employment. Women should try the flagship "singo" treatment - natural scrub used for preparing girls for marriage - while the "clove kidonge body pack" for men is said to increase libido and stamina. Couples can also book... More

Naturally any business that offers local indigigenous treatments gets my attention and Mrembo is the only one in Stonetown that offers Sligo the pre wedding Swahili flower scrub but I went because my entire right leg was in pain and I heard/read that the blind Aisha and deaf Ali were master masseures. I had an hour with Aisha and afterwards... More

Loved this spa with its natural products and very capable women running it. Provided worldclass spa treatments and opportunities to buy their products from their store. Be sure to book.

Ever an enthusiast for beauty rituals in any country I go to I read about Mrembo Spa and wanted to try it. If you expect or want a sterile massage or facial in a hotel spa looking like place, this is not for you. But if you like to step back in time and feel like a Swahili woman for... More

The products at Mrembo are all natural, organic, and hand-made with locally sourced materials. All the spices & oils are all homemade and the raw materials all come from a the owners farmland nearby; and are made in shop by all the wonderfully colorful staff. The products are excellent- and my mom in Canada always request that I bring her... More

I had a great package which included facial, massage , body scrub and manicure. I had 3 people working on me. One person did two treatments. I tipped this person for two treatments. Manicurist Fatima seemed to be upset. So treatment did not end as I would like.

Booked this through my hotel. It was Ramadan. I arrived for a 1 hour massage. Said they could not do it. So I got ready to go. They said they could do it. Got about a 45 minute massage. For 60 min price. Masseus was deaf. Bad bad
