We spent the weekend with friends enjoying the Deck the Halls event on the Seneca Lake Wine trail. We have done this in years past and always enjoyed our visit. We found lots of our old favorites as well as some new wines and wineries to enjoy. We stayed in Penn Yan at Trimmer House B&B which made for the... More

The wine trail at Seneca Lake includes many wineries. The map published by the wine trail failed to include many wineries. There are a ton of places to drink, but there are minimal other things to do to break up the day. The trail would benefit from including other activities along the trail.

Deck The Halls Wine Trail Review. A total of 10 of us decided this year to do the Deck The Halls wine trail around Seneca lake. We have been to the Wineries around Seneca Lake before at this time of year, but paid for wine tasting as we visited each winery. The cost was $40 per person or $30 per... More

We took our annual Deck the Halls Wine Trail event around Seneca Lake and had a blast. The participants were friendly and inviting and they provided a great atmosphere for the event. Wine was pared with the food served at each winery and the people attending had a chance to taste a variety of wines. Of course you could purchase... More

Preferred the left side of the lake versus the right, but great wineries on each side. Start with a meal in Watkins Glen prior to starting up a side. Most of the ones we visited did not have for or anything to eat. Most give you a coupon with your testing to use on your wine purchase. And you can... More

some of the wineries charge you a fee for tasting, it is a good and bad thing cause there was a few wineries that we did not like any of what they offered, and the ones that you did like they took the fee for the taste test off the first bottle of wine you bought. To me its like... More

We are sorry you were frustrated by our industry's tasting fee policies and hope that you were able to find at least a few wines you could enjoy, and happily purchase a bottle. It is definitely true that most, if not all, wineries charge a tasting fee of some sort, with some of them generously opting to credit that modest... More

Great wineries and breweries on this trail. All offer sampling. Friendly people offer information about the wines, beers and spirits. A bus tour will give you better sampling opportunities, otherwise a designated driver is a must.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this detailed, friendly review! We agree that it is usually a very good idea to have a designated driver, especially when visiting several wineries in one day. We hope you come back to visit again soon! More

Fun way to trip around Seneca Lake, wineries are interspersed around both sides of the lake. Fantastic views along the west side of the lake and are a little further spaced apart; western side of the lake is very dense with many choices for wineries. Most places had tastings for prices between $3 and $8. If you are looking to... More

Thank you for taking the time to provide this detailed, friendly review! Definitely an amazing, and growing, number of other tasting rooms like breweries, distilleries and cideries! We agree that it is usually a very good idea to have a designated driver, especially when visiting several wineries in one day. We hope you come back to visit again soon! More

We had a nice day! There are so many wineries and breweries from which to choose. Do a little research and PACE yourself. Also. ... enlist a designated driver or car service. A couple of favorites for wine, people and atmosphere: Leidenfrost and Chateau Lafayette Reneau. The wine at Standing Stone was very good, too. Plenty of B&Bs in the... More

This was our first visit to the Finger Lakes and it did not disappoint. Our plan was to spend a day following the Seneca Lake wine trail. Well it quickly became apparent that one day would not be enough. So many wineries to choose from. All very easy to get to. We stopped at six and each one was excellent.... More
