Quiet beach which is what I prefer, choice of laying in sand or stones which is great as I hate sand being everywhere! Some more waves than other beaches in this area and very clean!

Out of all the beaches I visited in rhodes this has to be my favourite..dont get me wrong..I loved the sandy beaches of lindos and faliraki but they were so crowded it was impossible to relax. Afandou beach is so large you really have it...More

This beach is not sandy at all. There are no facilities to speak of. The sea is crystal clear and calm.

This is a typical beach on Rhodes, stones and rock with gritty sand but this is what you expect. What slightly spoils this beach was its litter from bits of plastic and cigarette butts and some dog mess.

Lovely clean beach. Water clear & warm. It is shingle though & the sea bed drops dramatically! Sunbeds are 8 Euros for 2 with a parasol. It was quiet when I went & no trouble getting a bed. The beach bar is decent & serves...More

Wide and very beautiful beach. No rubbish at all. Crystal clear turquoise water. Affordable sunbeds and umbrellas. There wasn't many people, bars or restaurants but the view is simply breathtaking. Highly recommend it for a short break, day trip or long term holiday.

The Afandou beach is around 5km long with volcanic sand and a pebble shore. We approached it from Afandou village and were delighted to find a chilled taverna serving simple food and drinks right there. The beach has permanent parasols/sun beds at reasonable rates that...More

Nice pebble beach. Facilities are a bit sparse. The beach shelves steeply so very quickly out of your depth Lovely day here Could always catch the tit train if you don't fancy the 700 m walk from the centre of Afandou

It's not necessary to purchase sunbeds, however because it is pebble for comfort reasons you might reconsider! It is possible to find flatter parts of the beach in which you could probably get away with using towels!

We found the beach at faliraki one of the best beaches and only a short bus ride from the square in afandou
