as you walk around anacapri this is one of a few sites you could pay to go into. It is over several floors with a nice roof terrace. When we visited there was some information about the solider who built the place plus some art and some very ancient roman statues rescued from the sea bed in the blue grotto.... More

After staying in Anacapri for 2 weeks we visited this house. Very small and interesting with a great rooftop view. Some pretty artwork and nice patio. With ticket stubs from Blue Grotto, Monte Solaro or Villa San Michele it is only 1 euro and worth a quick visit.

If you go to Villa San Michele first, you can present your ticket stub for a discounted price of 1 Euro rather than 3.50 Euro. Didn't see that pricing listed anywhere at Casa Rossa. House is certainly eccentric, a hodgepodge of various architectural styles. You can either climb the stairs or take the elevator all the way up to the... More

This was a great way to spend an hour in Anacapri - well worth a visit so don't miss this. There is quite a bit of art and a lovely view from the roof terrace.

When walking to the central square of Anacapri you are suddenly met by this one building that stands out from all the others due to its bright red colour. Cheap ticket price to enter and go through a small inner courtyard and rooms that are all particular and contain various recollections from the past life on the island. Statues, a... More

Casa Rossa was spectacular. No service fee, great food, and reasonable prices. Perfect place to grab lunch or dinner. The best meal we had on the island of Capri. Highly recommend the salads, sandwiches, and pasta. Good wine list as well and great desserts.

So this guy fights as a Confederate in the Civil War, settles on Capri, buys some archeological sites and then loots them to find stuff to decorate his house. I suppose 100+ years ago that was ok. Interesting house, but the best bit is the statues on the top floor, which were found in the Blue Grotto and are believed... More

The house was originally owned by an interesting American character whose colorful life is described in one of the rooms. Not too much to see but a house you could comfortably live in.
