Great views and least busy part!
Apr 2019 • Couples
Due to clouds covering the top of Monte Solaro, we decided to walk up part of the way to the church and the observatory. Both were shut but the views were still spectacular from there, and the wildflowers were simply beautiful! There were also goats running around and a good amount of insect life which was great to see.

The path up is pretty steep to start with, and loose underfoot after the first half km, so take decent footwear with you.

Great views

I am so glad that we decided to walk down from the chairlift and stumbled upon this gem. I loved the view from the edge of the cliff. The paths are well marked and easy to follow.

Stunning view from the hill above Anacapri, towards Capri and Sorrento
Dec 2016 • Solo
I have never actually entered the small hermitage on the cliff above Marina Piccola/Capri, only enjoyed the walk up on the mountain from Anacapri (forest trail) and enjoyed the stunning views from the area.

Well worth to re-do another day! It is a somewhat tough hill to climb from Anacapri, but take the time you need and stop and drink something along the way, while you enjoy the view over Anacapri. I am not in such a good shape, but with a few breaks, it is a nice walk.

Church on the Walk Down from Mt. Solaro
May 2016 • Friends
The walk down from the top of Monte Solaro is strenuous and slippery. If you not sure of your footing, DO NOT DO this. However, if you do, stop off at the small church and appreciate the views--incredible.
It's easy to find, the fork in the trail to the right, about halfway down, is well marked.

Nice little chapel and very nice views
Jun 2016 • Couples
The walk to Emero a Cetralla is an easy relaxing stroll once you've been to Monte Solaro. The views over Capri and the bay are worth the visit alone.
The small chapel is very peacefull and well maintained. Worth the visit.

Visited Santa Maria a Cetrella on Two Separate Trips to Capri
Feb 2015 • Couples
This is a beautiful stop on a day tour of Capri. Our open top Car Driver stopped here for us, and the view was incredible. You can take nice photos with the Ocean as your back drop. It will always be in my heart as one of my best friends was on that trip and has since passed away. I highly recommend stopping here.

Stunning, breathtaking view!
Jun 2015 • Couples
We walked up Monte Solaro (having done the chairlift a few days before), knowing that this place was situated near the top. It took us about 45 mins, but we did stop many times to rest/admire the views.
The little path wound it's way upwards past a myriad wild flowers and fragrant pine trees. Hundreds of green/brown lizards darted away from our feet along the way, and I even saw a snake hurridly making an exit as soon as it was alerted to my presence.
Once at the destination (sadly the Casa McKenzie and this chapel were both closed) we were wowed by the awesome view down down to the sea below and the Faraglioni. Worth the hike, if just for the view!
