Lovely charming plaza, as is the town of Soria, but everything is closed on Monday (as are most attractions in Spain). So very disappointed not to be able to visit the attractions. But Plaza Mayor of course is open to stroll around. Not a typical squared in Plaza, but worth a visit. Historic buildings all around, but most closed.

There are many much more interesting things to see and places to have tapas and drinks in Soria than the Plaza Mayor. Yes, there are three bars with outside seating where there were people, but the rest of the square was empty, and, architecturally speaking, it is absolutely nothing to behold. I would say just a pass through is about... More

Surrounded by grand buildings, filled with people, all talking, eating and drinking, generally enjoying themselves. What a buzz!. Children playing around the fountain, good restaurants and bars, tapas of all sorts. A wonderful way to spend a hot Spanish evening.

A bit of a mess after the festivities of San Juan. It is not a very special square but there are many bars for a thirsty traveler.

Major road diversions make this near impossible to find, the information office and police give wrong information, it took us over an hour to arrive at the entrance. Upon removing our luggage we were "greeted" by a friendly? member of the Policia Local who told us we had to move the car, though web site states you can park to... More

The Plaza Mayor is located at the end of the pedestrian street "El Collado". It is surrounded by the City Hall, an old church, a small hotel, a traditional restaurant, candy store, etc. Nice place to have a beverage and people watch. Occasionally, there are concerts, events, and art exhibits held here.
