Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The sound of silence, our last day we walked the walls again sat on a bench looked out to sea, not a boat or person in sight perfect ending to a special place

Way bigger than expected, with great scenery and really interesting too, and free !
Well maintained wide paths, we did the loop going in via the tower gate entrance and finish with the small opening the other side

Have “done” this walk many times. Never fails to impress. The history “behind” the walk is fascinating, the views spectacular, and the gentle walk itself is calming, but sometimes quite exhilarating (weather dependent). I love the islands, and this walk is always always always our first stop, regardless of the weather, just got to get up there and take it all in!

Lovely walk around the small peninsula at the south end of St Marys. Most of it follows the gorrison walls and has occasional guns pointing out to sea. There are a few explanatory notices here and there. Walking with the dog, it was an extremely blustery day and we asked the way down from the Star Castle from a bird watcher and he said it gave shelter freom the wind. He was not wrong. Great views out to sea which would have been even more magnificent on a sunny day.

Interesting history and brilliant views out to the other islands and Bishops Rock. Well worth a visit to learn about the history and to take in the views.

a great way of learning some of the history of the island and enjoy some stunning views. tricky to find the start of the walk, through a low tunnel between houses.
