The young lady was friendly and helpful. However, her information is incorrect on the opening days of the buildings in the Heritage Precinct. I had doubled checked with her as we did not have full days in Carnarvon which was just a night over to and from Coral Bay. She told me that it is open everyday. I did tell her that I had read on tripadvisor that tourists had been disappointed when they went and the buildings were not open and she told me that perhaps they did not have the volunteers then. Hence, had planned to visit the One Mile Jetty, Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage, The Interpretive Ctr, Shearing Hall of Fame and Railway Station Museum on a Monday upon our return from Coral Bay. So, happened when we arrived on Sunday, we decided to go for lunch at the cafe at the One Mile Jetty and was disappointed to hear that they are always closed on Mondays solely because the cafe is closed on Mondays. It was too late for us to visit the buildings then as they close at 2pm and the video at the Interpretive Centre itself takes 55mins.

Helpful visitors centre with great gift shop. staff courteous and friendly. Unfortunately we were disappointed in the dining options of Carnarvon : One mile point cafe / Harbourside cafe / Carnarvon port hotel all state on there websites that they were open for breakfast and they werent, felt like we were driving round all the time looking for places to eat, they should really be updating there websites
