The tour guide ‘Box’ who owns the company with his wife is super knowledgeable about Exmouth. He shares some really interesting history and stories. The cruise itself is relatively short- probably because the creek section with water isn’t actually that long. We spotted quite a few animals on our cruise and were pretty amazed by the gorges themselves. When we went (October) tours were running twice a day at 11am and 12:30pm. For an adult it cost $40 and we booked through the Tourism Centre in Exmouth on the day and had no issues. You can also book on their website.

Thanks for the feedback on Yardie Creek Boat Tours - we appreciate your review and feedback! We've found the one (1) hour duration of our boat tour to be just perfect for guests to include on their day on the "West Side" of the Cape, so there's still plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful beaches in the Cape Range National Park, like Sandy Bay, Turquoise Bay & Oyster Stacks - I'll make sure Boxy sees this one too! Cheers from the YCBT Team!

The Yardie Creek Boat Tour was amazing. We went in December for their last tour of the season and were so impressed with our tour guide can't remember his name but he had a pony tail, well he was such a great guide. He had incredible knowledge of the creek and made sure everyone got a good look at the birds and the rock wallabies. This is a highlight for anyone travelling to Exmouth. For those saying the tour was too short, they should read the information about the tour. We felt it was a perfect duration to look at the creek and to hear about the history and surrounding wildlife. Well done!!!

This was a nice highlight of our stay in Exmouth. Boxy was very knowledgeable, gave a great narrative and pointed out all wildlife. The gorge was beautiful, we saw Black footed rock wallabies and their young, Osprey and Egrets. It was peaceful, calm and quietly stunning. Well worth a morning excursion.

This was a great way to spend an hour on the Yardie. Ash was excellent, sharing lots of information about the wildlife and the history of the area, and he was especially fantastic with the children. Suitable for all ages and for those lovers of "Dad Jokes". When I have some grandkids of my own, I'll drag them along for a ride. Once done, you can incorporate a hike along the top - long or short depending on fitness & agility level.

We thoroughly enjoyed our boat trip on Yardie Creek and saw a lot of wildlife that we wouldn't have spotted if we'd done the walk trail at the top of the gorge, particularly osprey and black footed wallabies. Tour guide, Boxy, was very good at pointing them out and his stories of growing up in Exmouth added extra local flavour to the trip. The scenery from the water was spectacular and we have lots of great photos. We recommend incorporating the boat trip into a day of activities. Take a picnic and stop at Turquoise Bay to swim or snorkel on the way back to Exmouth.

We left our overnight accommodation in Carnarvon before sunrise in order to get to Yardie Creek in time to do this cruise and all of us (4 adults) thought that it was worth the effort. The driver, Pete, was very entertaining with both his local knowledge and quirky sense of humour.
We saw lots of rock wallabies basking in the sun, and several different types of birds, as well as some bats nesting in the surrounding trees. The boat tour is a great way to view the wildlife and the natural beauty of the gorge itself.
The rock formations and the colours of the rocks are a photographer's dream.

We decided late to see if we could get onto one of these boat tours as we were driving down that way. Unfortunately, there was no phone signal to book, so we turned up and were lucky to be the last two let on. Ash was very entertaining, made sure the kids were well looked after, and was very knowledgeable about local history and the flora and fauna. We saw lots of wildlife and felt that the trip was great value for money.

Pick up was on time. Guide very courteous and super friendly. They drop you off at the beach and pick you up later not without ensuring you have enough water and food for the day. They gave me an umbrella and beach chair! That was the magic touch. Without them it would have been difficult in the sun. I definitely recommend this tour.
The beach is absolutely worthwile with the reef just there within meters of the shore

Taking the long drive right to the end of Yardie Creek Road, we were hoping it was all going to be worth it. We weren’t disappointed being greeted by Boxy our skipper who had lived in Exmouth sines the age of five and by the sound of his voice and the knowledge he had we could tell how passionate he was about his back yard. We had a perfect weather day and Boxy took us gentle meandering the creek through Yardie Gorge. Stopping to see the rock wallabies in the cliff faces and the nesting Ospreys. We saw the odd fish and turtle on the way. Heading back we arrived after a relaxing 1 hour more educated about the area than when we started. Well done Boxy. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone of any age.

We visited in late July and hadn't made a booking, however the skipper, "Boxie" let us join the boat tour last minute. He was very knowledgeable, not only about Yardie Creek but the whole area, from early settler days to current events affecting the region. We spotted Rock wallabies, bower birds, osprey and egrets. Boxie also gave us an insight into the local flora in the region. The tour goes for about an hour. Well worth it and can highly recommend.

Is it safe for an 18 month old? Also, where does this tour begin in relation to Exmouth?
Written 14 January 2016
Yes it would be safe for an 18 month old child, you have to drive out to Yardie creek, I not sure what the child price was but adults were $35.00 each
