It took us just over an hour instead of the recommended 2 to complete the circuit and kept stopping to take lots of photos. The terrain was up and down with some steep bits climbing on the the top of the hill which is where...More

This was our first stop from getting off the plane, and what a fantastic area, we were stopping every 50 to 100 metres to take photos and look at the changing views. Extremely beautiful area and it shows the harsh beauty of the real Australian...More

Thanks to Exmouth Safari Tours, Dave (a surveyor turned guide) explained the extensive geological formations and history - really old and clear too see in the layers.

The canyon is well worth the visit which can be done by walking or driving. We drove - half the road is sealed, the rest is unsealed but okay for 2WD. The view of the canyon is spectacular and drive along the ridge top very...More

An amazing drive , the canyon is breath taking, well worth a little rough road. Never expected it to be this good, a recommended trip.

The views are amazing and there are so many. Not a bad drive up on a good road, in good weather. Don't miss this location.

The team on our whale diving trip described this canyon as Australia’s Grand Canyon, May be not quite but should not be overlooked. Just south of Exmouth the canyon is spectacularly cut into the limestone Cape Range. The bands of colour in the rock, the...More

The Charles Knife Canyon drive is an easy 4WD journey and if there is no water in the canyon is drivable with a 2WD vehicle. The countryside is quintessential Australian. There is a pleasant picnic site at the end of the drive.

Yes it does but not sure last time it flooded. But does flow during wet season depending on how much rain they have. It was dry wen we were there.

Check road condition with the Information Center, you don't need a map as its only one road in, lots of really good viewing spots as you drive along but it stops eventually at a viewpoint and then you turn around and drive... More
