The winery is located in a lovely rural setting some 10 mins drive out of Mt Barker. The tasting room is equally inviting, located in a charmingly restored 1915 cottage, with its inside walls decorated with works by local artists. Really, it is hard to imagine a better environment in which to taste some wines. Our hostess was also charming: friendly, very knowledgeable about wines and the district, even patient! The tasting list is quite extensive and we were able to sample everything that was available (some had already sold out). We liked the wines very much, and most were very reasonably priced. Needless to say we left with a nice supply, very pleased with our experience here.

This was our first stop of our wine tour. Staff were very friendly and recommended other places to visit along our way. Beautiful wines and great coffee. Ample parking and big grassed area for kids to run around on.

We came across West Cape Howe Wines as we drove from Perth to Denmark. It was the ideal lunch-stop, and was one of the few places open between Boxing Day and New Year. The white wines were superb and we settled for a glass of their Sauvignon Blanc to go with the homemade pate ($10) and the locally made Turkish bread with olive oil and dukkha ($10). The food was magnificent, the wines superb and the staff incredibly friendly. The location is beautiful, the dining area relaxed and comfortable.

If you're just in need of a coffee stop, then this is the perfect place. The coffee is roasted locally as well and was one of the best we've had in W.A. If you're driving past, stop! You'll be glad you did.

We visited in mid winter and so were almost the only visitors at the time. Wine tasting was generous and they even opened a new bottle of bubbly to taste - unusual these days. Lunch was excellent - the tasting plates were large and very tasty. Extra biscuits etc were brought without having to be requested and we had a tour of the winery with one of the owners. Wines were available by the glass and half the price of Perth.
Highly recommended.

Lovely stop on our drive down from Perth to Denmark. Sommelier was knowledgable, friendly and didn’t mind that we’d turned up at their beautiful venue in rather casual clothes! Sampled several different wines between the two of us before settling on a few bottles to take with us as we continue our roadtrip. Would definitely recommend!

The best wine my partner and I have ever had. Beautiful & peaceful winery with accommodation available. Great selection of wines but the Pinot Noir was like velvet - cannot recommend enough. Great service from smiling faces who are happy to be there. Thank you!

On our way to Denmark we stopped in for a stretch of the legs and to sample their wine. The Styx Chardonnay was really good, as was their Rose. Lovely setting and could tell it would be lovely on a cold winters day too

We had a really good time at West Cape Howe wines. The weather was awful and we wanted to get out of the house. We took a short drive from Mt Barker and called in for some wine tasting and sat on the leather couch by the fire with some freshly roasted coffee and hot chocolate for the kids. They had some great art on display and we felt welcomed and relaxed.
