Okay beach

The view is okay as far as beaches go, nothing spectacular but peaceful. Some cafes and restaurants near by. The parks along the water front are good.

Great place to spend some time and enjoy the beach area or a stroll on the adjacent boardwalk. Enjoy lunch or a snack at one of the many restaurants or just picnic in the park area. My wife reckoned that she would enjoy a more lengthy spell in Rockingham during summer months and be a frequent visitor to the beach. I'd have my choice of restaurants. 😊 It seemed that many families were taking the opportunity to spend a last day of the school holidays there on the Monday, noticeably quieter on Tuesday.

Rockingham Beach is a great spot to spend a day or even a couple of hours.
You can walk the boardwalk or path along the beach, swim, picnic in the park or sit in one of the many cafes and restaurants and enjoy a coffee, fish and chips or meal.
Either way a great day out will be had by all ages.

Vibrant hub of activity right on the beach!
Feb 2020
So recently visited one of my fave spots in Perth... Rockingham Beach. It's a must for anyone visiting the Rockingham area. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and loved the vibrant hub of activity that was going on. Walking along the esplanade, the beautiful lush lawns and shady trees in the parkland alongside the beach were full of familys picnicking and having a good time. As I strolled along the path between the park and the beach, an elderly gentleman was sitting on a chair playing the harmonica. He was not busking as he didn't have anything out to collect money, he was simply playing for the sheer joy of it. I stopped and listened to his joyful music for a while before continuing down the pathway. Hey, there are some really cool historical facts imprinted in the path, and well worth a read if you have time! Anyway, down towards the pier are a whole heap of very cool cafes and restaurants right on the beachfront. I've tried them all, and they are all fantastic. The stand out everytime though is the customer service in Rockingham...it is absolutely brilliant. The locals are all super friendly and helpful. The beach at Rockingham is beautiful and clean - I believe a truck comes along at the crack of dawn and sweeps the beach, keeping it looking just glorious. Beside the pier, and right in front of the cafes, you will find lots of umbrellas and green areas with sun lounges and decks to sit and relax. Really, Rockingham has thought of everything here! So, if you're visiting Perth, please do pop down South and visit the Rockingham area... there are so many different beaches and you'll find the locals welcome you with open arms. I loved it so much, I'm considering moving there!

Great beach as it offers shade and free loungers and parasols and is right by a bar! Was good to have a swim and feel safe after swimming with dolphins.

Family friendly
Feb 2020 • Friends
This beachfront has a huge stretch of grassed bank whereby you can sit, picnic or just watch the water. Shops line the opposite side of the road so there is a huge array of choices for meals and drinks.

This beach area is part of the Cockburn Sound and as such is a very protected body of water which is safe for swimming.

You will always find families and large groups taking advantage of this fantastic area.

So much to do down here. From a formal meal, to fish and chips on the beach. We often come down and depending if we bring the dog, head to different parts of the.l beach. Love it.

Beautiful Shallow Beach Foreshore
Jan 2020 • Couples
The perfect spot for families, elderly or those a little timid about the water. Clear water, white sand and now beautiful grassed areas, decking, sun lounges and umbrellas. A range of ever-changing cafe's and restaurants surround to suit the basic budget to sophisticated palette. The local council regularly runs great community events in this space, so check for details.
