Short walk to The Basin from the ferry terminal. Hubby and I spent our afternoon at this beautiful beach. We took a sun shelter thankfully as it's quite hot at the beach. A beautiful beach with toilets and change facilities on the hill. We set...More

The Basin is one of the most beautiful spots on the Island. Perfect for a cooling dip or for a snorkel, or just lie on the beach and relax

Nice place for a swim although beach area is not big so could get busy in peak times - and could be hard to get space on the sand. Worth a swim great for young kids.

This area gets busy buts it’s such a beautiful area to swim. Even if your not swimming it’s still wonderful to sit and watch and look out at the beautiful clear waters. Our kids went swimming and snorkelling and said they saw a few varieties...More

Taking a trip to Rottnest is expensive but it's something worth doing at least once(in good weather) to see quokkas up close and personal ! The quokkas here are extremely friendly and docile and fortunately have no problems with humans sticking cameras in the faces...More

AMAZING!!!! It is absolutely stunning. You can just sit on one of the picnic benches eating lunch, with quokka's around you while the waves roll in. I went in winter and I would still recommend.

Gorgeous simple beach for families Odd seaweeds, nets and boats just a part of life 👍 Slip, slop, slap regardless what weather you’re in 😊

People were enjoying the beach, while others were walking. However, the Basin is unique. The color of the ocean is light blue. It is peaceful and nothing can disturb us while swimming. It was cool! It was perfectly calm.

Beautiful is a cliche for describing places on Rottnest but, The Basin is is! Inviting clear waters and golden sands, idyllic. Especially as out of season and fantastic weather.
