Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The man walks on water. If Jesus was a carpenter..then John was his tutor. The man gives timber a voice.. for future generations 😀

A great gallery and an amazing craftsman. John downed tools and came to chat to us about the beautiful birds eye jarrah wine cabinet we purchased from him 15 years ago which was a real treat. This piece has travelled the world with us to the US, UK and back again to WA and is as beautiful today as the day we bought it. A testimony to his incredible craftsmanship. If you only visit one gallery in the area, make it this one, as nothing else comes close.

The quality of John's work is only matched by the beauty of the timbers he sources.
We love to visit every time we are in the area.

A wonderful stopover on our recent trip in WA, made even more special by receiving a warm welcome by the very John Streater himself! We could not resist purchasing a couple of gifts and a beautifully crafted chopping board made of Jarrah for ourselves.

John's place is a great surprise situated as it is in the middle of the bush. A modern workshop to turn rare hardwoods into works of furniture art by John.
Also included are many items by other artisans well displayed and all available to buy.
If you enjoy beautiful things, you won't be disappointed.

This is a little off the beaten track...but well worth the visit. Well set up a mixture of jewellery, paintings, sculpture and furniture. Some excellent pieces from bowls to pens and to massive tables. You will be minding your own business and John will sneak up and greet you!!. Very down to earth man, easy to talk to. Many interesting wooden pieces full of natural character. if you are lucky you will meet Mathilda the blue heeler...a big softie!!

Be careful driving on the road as there may be a blue tongue lizard who is none too happy to be helped to safety!!

I bought an amazing and unique jarrah dining table here which I'm totally thrilled about. It was also reasonably priced.

I met John Streater himself at the gallery, and he explained some of his work. It was really nice to meet the actual artist at the workshop.

The gallery is a ten minute drive off caves road in yallingyup - the website is a fairly good indication of what is available on the floor.

The quality of the workmanship is definitely the best I've seen in the Margaret River area.

John Streater very obviously loves working with wood.

This lovely gallery is a bit off the beaten track but is well worth your time to visit. John greeted us and was happy to spend considerable time with us explaining how he sources his raw product and how he works his craft. His passion for this medium is displayed in his furniture, which really are works of art. John was even happy to give us tips about places to visit in the Margaret River area.

Along with John's work are pieces of art by other artists - paintings, glassware etc.

This lovely gallery is well worth a stop.

While holidaying in the area we had heard of the Gallery so had to visit as we were looking for a couple of small pieces to take to India as gifts for friends there. We had a little problem finding the place as they have recently moved and the brochure we had been given was not up to date but the helpfull girls at the nearby Swings and Roundabouts winery soon informed us where to go .
The good Lady there who we assume was Johns wife was very helpfull and showed us some nice Jarrah bowls for us to choose from which were ideal for us to take overseas and now sit in two lounge rooms in New Delhi. We saw some beautifull work there, John really is a timber artist and if we return to the area in the future we would love a piece of his work for our own home.
For timber lovers this place is a must visit .
