Smaller museum with great views as it sits along the Hudson. There’s the historic house attached to it that takes you back into history. They offer a lot of art courses, free and at charge. There’s an observatory too with free parking. Worth a visit

The Hudson River Museum might not be the most well known museum but it is absolutely worth a visit. Perfect to spend an afternoon learning about nature around the Hudson River and admiring painting of the school of the same name.
The museum is small but frequently changes exhibits, offering a wide variety, while maintaining their pieces from the Hudson River School. It is a nice place to stop by on a rainy day, and offers a little insight into Yonkers history. The Junior Docents really...More
We came for the Maya Lin exhibit celebrating the magnificent extent of the Hudson and its tributaries, but wound up visiting the Glenfield Mansion and habitat exhibits as well. Something for everyone, even a free concert for kids. Nice way to spend half an afternoon.
Admission price includes a tour of the Glenview Mansion.
While we were there, there was an interesting exhibit on the Hudson River put together by Maya Lin (Viet Nam Memorial).
