I wished I had discovered this place earlier. After looking for something to do on a nice late winter weekend, I saw that this place was only 25 minutes away from me, had great reviews and the prices were very reasonable. We decided to go at about 1:30 PM on a Saturday. After getting off Cross County Parkway and driving... More

Small museum. Good for kids ages 3-10. Has assorted planetarium show through the the day ( weekends). We came on a day when they also had a magic show. It was lots of fun. Fun art work by artist Red Grooms. Lots of photo opts. Also it was attached to Glenview House. We took a tour of the building (... More

We were in Yonkers for the Thanksgiving holiday & went over to the museum on Friday @ 11:30 to find the parking lot empty & the museum closed. No signage indicated when they would be open again. It might be a wonderful place, but if it closed when major influxes of people have a day off & CAN come W/O... More

For Father's Day, my family went out to brunch at the Yonkers Brewing Company and then took the brief drive down the road to this adorable little museum. The exhibit "Tongue in Cheek: The Inflatable Art of Jimmy Kuehnle" was on display and just delectable! We had such fun exploring the long-term exhibitions as well, including the Red Grooms Bookstore... More

This is a small museum attached to a fully restored post Civil War home built by a small time robber baron. There is a connection between the museum and Red Grooms, a prolific and imaginative artist. At this writing, he has an installation exhibit and associated material related to a visit to Yonkers by Abe Lincoln on the way to... More

This small museum has many quality features. Located on The Hudson River, the planetarium, the permanent collection, the changing exhibitions, the amphitheater, and a most excellent gift shop. Then there's Glenwood Manor, an outstanding example of the seafaring architecture. This is the beginning of many mansions along the east side of The Hudson River. A must see. Take Metro North... Had a great time with the family. So much fun. Saw this exhibit with balloons. The kids had a great time walking around, through and under all the balloons.

Moved right down the street from here and decided to take a Sunday stroll and check out the local museum. First I was able to save the 6 or so dollars per person as my entire family was granted free access for military veteran status. I always appreciate a military discount and free is the best of all. The museum... More

Wow, what a great museum and planetarium right here in Yonkers. They offer changing exhibits as well as a ton of permanent ones too. Great day was had by all at the Hudson River Museum.
