The lodge is laid out well and renting a ski locker was cheap. The cafeteria was very nice plus there is a seating area upstairs for those that bring their own food. The rental process was a confusing maze compared to other ski areas. Sugar Mountain maintains their snow well. The intermediate trail from the top of mountain (Northridge trail)... More

They hide behind a no refunds policy. Despite their website claiming all of their slopes were open, we arrived to only the "magic carpet" hill and an expert course open. There was barely any snow, and tons of mud which makes for extremely rough conditions. My party and I dropped over $300 there, and were on the slopes for a... More

Bee Branch 33 is the place to go for all seasons! Right by the slopes if you are a skier, you can walk to the ski lift. A view of Grandfather mountain for the leaf lovers, and lovely trails nearby. Heck we just hiked up the ski slope for a gorgeous view. For the spring and summer there is white... More

In the winter you can in and ski out. The amenities include a heated pool, sauna, and tennis courts. There are lots on hiking trails on Sugar Mountain. There are great views from the resort. You are on top of the mountain. A of to offer.

Nice Har-Tru tennis courts, nice 18 hole golf course. Staff for both tennis and golf are exceptional.

My friend and I went in March 2016 and had a good time even though the snow was mostly melted on most of the slopes. It was the end of the snow season, so we expected this. The people that worked there were really nice.

What do you do with a golf course in the Mountains of North Carolina in the winter? Well I can't say for them all, but certainly Sugar Mountain has the right idea, turn it into a great tubing facility. They rent the tubes by the hour and you can slide as much as you want or can do. The kids... More
