Appalachian Ski Mountain has a great mix of hills for everyone. I enjoyed the section with the boxes and railing- Even if I did end up busting my ass. (I'm no Pro) I also enjoyed the restaurant on site, they have amazing hot chocolate. Plus,...More

We travel to Boone every winter and I must say Appalachian Ski Mountain is one of the better if not best ski resorts. The process was quick and seamless. Mostly everyone was attentive and nice. Except for Shannon. She was very rude and had a...More

Great question! Elk mountain just out of Boone NC has a cross country club and club maintained trails at base of Elk mtn parking area. Also ,as far as solo trails, Moses cone trail in Blowing Rock NC is amazing! Enjoy!
