Have been to the area several times, primarily mountain biking at the four different trails at the recreation center, and kayaking the surrounding rivers and streams. Spent some time on the lake learning some kayaking basics, and learning to roll. The public campground is very...More

Although the parking lot at Lemmon's Branch was by far the dirtiest of any I have seen while visiting the Great Smoky Mountains, the views in any direction once you have launched are spectacular. Rocky outcroppings share the beach with red clay beaches that are...More

Tsali features four single track mountain bike trails that wind along the cliff sides surrounding Fontana Lake. I biked the Mouse Loop the first day with a friend, including the Mouse Overlook Loop (all told, about 9.5 miles). This took several hours, and was exhausting...More

I walked the right loop. It was about 10 miles. I never saw another person the entire time. There was a lot of nice scenery. You went up and down small hills, through the woods, and almost always along the water. The most beautiful place...More

Came here last year and had a blast, decided short notice to come back this year. Tsali is so much fun, plenty of climbs and downhills. Rode 45 miles in 4 days. Will be back next year!

I've mountain biked and hiked several of the trials and love them all. The trails are very well maintained.

We did the two loops that were open to bikers the day we arrived and we had a great time. Some big climbs and fun downhill sections. Great flow to this trail system and they were in great shape.

You likely won't be riding the bike from the NOC to the trail, that's a fifteen-twenty minute car ride and all uphill to Tsali. A bike rack is your answer here. Bryson City Cycles is a great local bike shop that might be... More

They are long trails. You can always turn around if you get tired. There is not a lot of elevation change so it's a nice easy walk.
