This place was so fun!

We loved mining for gems. It's something I had never done, but my wife had done a lot as a kid. Well the kid is still in there and she and I had a blast (and we are in our 50's).

We had so much fun even in the rain! The space is covered so if the weather isn't cooperating think about taking the ride Buckets range from $40- $60 but the basic bucket was enough to keep us busy for a while. We definitely found some goodies!

My youngest son loves this stuff!! We've never taken him before so this was our first experience. The Lady and young man who run the place were very nice. She was great at talking to the kids and identifying rocks and their meanings to them. I didn't think it would be as much fun but we all got slightly hooked.

I have been saving up to do this with my children. It would have been a great memory for them and I wish that I could have given a 5-star review but we had a horrible experience during our visit here this afternoon. As we finished up, my 5-yr old (who has lost his father) wanted to go look at... More

My three year old loved looking for rocks and gems, but I felt it was expensive for what you left with. When I called to make a reservation, the lady was rude and rushed me off the phone, but the gentleman that worked the mine when we arrived was far more pleasant than her. He really took the time and... More

There seems to be a lot of these gem mining places in the Smoky Mountain area. We were very happy we went with this one. Let me just preface this review with the reality of these mining shops. There is no possibility of anyone ever pulling a bucket of dirt out of the ground that has such a diverse amount... More

We really enjoyed our team here. We bought one lg bucket and split it between our two girls, ages 7 and 4. They loved it and found lots of gems including rubies, emeralds and crystals among other fossils. Our best find was a perfect small arrow head! The lady and gentleman that helped us got excited with the kids as... More

First time gem mining. A good activity to do on a rainy day. We found some rubies. My husband really enjoyed it and the staffer appeared to be knowledgeable. All in all, we are glad we experience this activity.

We decided to get the two-fer Super buckets. One Ruby and one Emerald bucket and sat down at the flume to sift for our treasures. We ended up getting a few large Amethysts, a large cuttable Ruby and Emerald and several smaller ones too! We also got a farmer, moonstone and a few crystals. While I'm sure the owners seed... More
