We enjoyed the model train exhibit very much. Great displays. The museum is adjacent to the entry/exit points for the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, so plan to visit before or after a ride on GSMR.

We visited after a ride on the Great Smoky Mtn Railway with our 7 yr old grandson. There are tons of trains with little towns and you can interact by controlling several of them.

Definitely a must when visiting. We took the railroad, which we loved, and then looked at the museum and store.

We purchased a Great Smoky Mt railroad ticket and received admission to the train museum. It was interesting although it was a miniature train setup with elaborate displays. We had thought it would be more info a actual trains. We did enjoy the displays.

I'm not sure what it costs to purchase tickets to the museum, but it's included with your Great Smoky Mountain Railroad ticket and is a fascinating place.
