We rode the train with our young children (under 5) for the Polar Express. We enjoyed the experience thoroughly. As some reviewers have mentioned, the North Pole lights were a little weak, but none of our group paid attention to that. The train ride was fun for everyone and the hot chocolate in the souvenir mugs was a nice treat.... More

The whole town really does a great job of getting in the Christmas spirit. My 3-year old son couldn't have been happier to ride the Polar Express. The train cars were nice and spacious. There were no delays. They kept the music going and the just over an hour ride flew by. The Santa was excellent! He looked very real!... More

We did 1st class on Silver Meteor. The staff was cheerful and it was a magical time. A treat bag was waiting on us when we aboard then they brought us hot cocoa in a beautiful ceramic souvenir mug to keep. Upon arrival at the north pole, Santa hopped aboard and spoke to each child and gave them a bell... More

Absolutely MAGICAL! We took our 7 year old grandson on The Polar Express, and it was everything we had hoped for. In fact, the entire town embraced the Polar Express experience--folks were excited for us and so very accommodating. Hearing our grandson gasp with excitement when he first saw the train will be a memory we cherish forever. And be... More

We had the treat 2 years ago to try the Polar Express and loved it. That's why we were skeptical about going back so soon. We did and with 11 all together. We had a blast. From the singing to the hot chocolate to Santa and our bells. This is a must do !!!!!

If you haven't rode the train for the Polar Express, do so soon. We took the children and the 2 year was amazed with every thing going on. The elves were awesome serving others chocolate and cookies, singing songs and interacting with the passengers. The highlight at the end was Santa and elf giving candy and silver bell. Enjoyed the... My son (6 years old) and I started going to Bryson City for the GSMR Polar Express event 2 years ago and loved it so much we've kept going. This year was no different. The train ride is over an hour long, the kids get to see Santa who gives them a sleigh bell, they hear the story of the... More

Lots of fun. The waitress Glow was so good with the children. Cookies were actually homemade and the hot chocolate delicious and just the right temperature. Santa came on board which was such a treat for the kids. Some of the scenery on the trip was sad. It would be nice if those homes had a little decoration but of... More

This was the most fascinating experience! 2 adults and a 11year old just took a ride to the North Pole on the train in Bryson City. Paid for the deluxe package and it was worth it. You get a take home coffee mug that had some delicious hot chocolate inside. A bag of goodies that includes shortbread cookies, mints, chocolate... More
