Had the chance to go on the lake with some friends while visiting Charlotte. It's the biggest lake in North Carolina and just gorgeous. Saw an osprey nest and the babies while on the lake.

What a beautiful lake. We spent several hours exploring. Stopped for lunch at the Rusty Rudder which I will do in another review, but it was great.

If you can get out on Lake Norman during the week days you will find calm water and open coves to yourself. Rent a pontoon, go anchor, and soak up sun and read a good book in a beautiful relaxing setting.

Try Airbnb or VRBO if you are looking to rent a house. If you specifically want something right on the water make sure and specify that in your search. Good luck, and enjoy! It's a beautiful place!

There are no trains or other public transportation from Charlotte to the Lake. It's about 20 miles. You would need to rent a car for flexibility.
