Even though it is a small museum, and the main attraction is the ex US Airways A320 'Miracle on the Hudson', it is a nice and neat one. Especially if you are a real plane crazy person, you will be happy to find a few nice and rare artifacts. Like a preproduction YF-102, an AV-8B Harrier which was mainly used... More

See Sully's bird, reassembled as complete as was possible, and marvel at how no one died on that fateful day on the near-frozen Hudson River.

The big draw is Sully's plane - the Miracle on the Hudson. This exhibit is very timely, what with the Tom Hanks film, but even without that, it's fascinating! The curator has done a terrific job telling the story of the emergency water-landing: it's told with excitement and emotion, yet the drama doesn't run away with the show. The science... More

The displays of the recovered US Airways flight #1549 plane, engine, slide/raft, parts & other memorabilia draw your attention. Looking at the plane & reading the display panels tells you a lot about just how great a feat this real life event was. Not the largest aviation museum & doesn't have the most aircraft on display yet. What it does... More

The Carolinas Aviation Museum is taken over by the original aircraft of US Airways Flight 1549, which carried out an emergency landing on the Hudson River on 15 January 2009. The aircraft and all parts of the engine that broke off are displayed. It is very impressive and without any doubt the highlight of the exhibition. Otherwise, there are machines... More

The aviation museum's crown jewel is obviously the Miracle on the Hudson plane, but there are many other planes from different eras that are fantastic for young kids to see. They have a replica of the Wright Brother's original plane as well. Definitely a good rainy day activity, and not a bad way to get out of the house for... More

I'm not an aviation nut, but there were enough interesting exhibits to keep a complete novice's attention. I did enjoy being able to see the actual USAirways plane that was pulled from the Hudson River and examine all the damage and hear/read the history. That alone is worth the price of admission, which is quite reasonable.

Although not the biggest of aviation museums, this one is made special by the Miracle on the Hudson story - the aircraft and the story surrounding it is the central attraction, and a fascinating one. Yet there are also quite a few other aircraft from different eras which are also great to see - including a DC3, and (outside) a... More

Most of their flying machines (airplanes, helicopters, etc) are famous - were in a famous battle or flown by a famous person, etc. Only takes an hour or two to see everything and the docents are knowledgeable.
