My husband and I wanted someplace to visit that would be interesting. We wanted to see the plane Miracle on the Hudson Which was very impressive to see plus other displays in the field of aviation. We visited the museum first and recently saw the movie Sully. A must see.

Well you learn something everyday. One the Wright brothers first flew in Charlotte. I didn't know that, secondly I didn't know the Husdon river crash was on route to Charlotte and so that is why the plane was brought to this museum. The museum has a interesting range of historic planes to view. I wont spoil it. The museum is... More

This is a nice little museum. They have displays of commercial, civil military aviation's and helicopters. They also have Sully's aircraft which did a water landing in the Hudson river. It will taken just an hour to see everything the museum can offer.

My family and I are spending Thanksgiving together in North Carolina. We all decided to go to the aviation Museum at the Charlotte airport. I love aviation and airplanes and the smell of jet fuel in the morning. Love seeing Sully's Airbus a 320. The museum is right outside of runway at the Charlotte airport.I would recommend this place for... More

Lovely little museum with old planes, including "Sully's Plane that Landed on Hudson River. We have been to the museum twice. It is very close to the airport, so it is ideal for families with chilren who have a few hours' layover. The taxi fare cannot be too expensive, kids can also "visit" some planes, or do some activities. Any... More

The centerpiece of this museum that sets it apart is the actual Miracle on the Hudson aircraft display. While the museum has a diverse military and civil aircraft collection, the USAir 1549 aircraft is an absolutely unique item. Seeing how little accident damage actually occurred to the fuselage underlines the remarkable airmanship executed on that day. A display case with... More

This is not a large museum but it is an impressive one. The Miracle on the Hudson exhibit is wonderful and surreal to see the actual plane. Pretty amazing real life event!

My wife and I were looking for a local thing to do on a Friday afternoon and chose the aviation museum. We had low expectations but were just blown out of the water by the flight 1549 (aka Sully flight) display. The plane is there, but they've done a super tasteful job of laying out various displays with many, many... More
