Walking in the park

A great place for a family walk. Choose a trail and get moving. Most trails have distance located at entrance.

We went over Labor Day weekend with our family--2 adults, 6 year old, 3 year old, and lab mix dog. Everyone had a great time, and the trails were easy to navigate. The kids enjoyed the playground in front of the nature center immensely. Great time, great place.

I went to this park to see if it would be a good park for a family cook out. I loved the park, the park ranger was so helpful, he showed us the indoor shelter. This place is beautiful, it has everything you would need for a cook-out outing. The only compaint is that the bathroom and playground are far... More

This is a public recreational park located about 20 minutes from downtown Charlotte that has hiking trails, a large fishing pond, basketball courts, playgrounds for children and even a doggy park. We love to go there for a picnic and relaxing time.

The staff of the park was so knowledgeable regarding nature. They were able to explain information to the children and adults in such a way that you could not help but understand. The tour and exhibit was simple amazing!!!

Cool place. It's nature and green...can't ever say too much bad about that. There is a dog park. It can be muddy, but it's large and there's some trees in the back to take a walk. The trails are decent, not the best or most scenic place, but it's still a park.

I've come here quite often to play the course. A great walk through a great preserve, and let's keep it that way. I think it's a scourge on the whole DG community when a few players think it's ok to trash (as in litter) the course. It's ignorant and selfish. But once you get past that, the course offers plenty... More

The nature center has lots of things for kids, activities inside, programs, the play area outside. There are over 10 miles of trails to explore and forget that you are 15 minutes away from downtown Charlotte.

Events, open areas, playgrounds, really wonderful explorer playground in lovely shade, wonderful nature center with an indoor tree house and animal exhibits, lots of trails (even when blazing hot they're covered and SO cool) to hike and DO NOT miss Robinson Rock house or the lake trail!
