Awesome Beach

This beach is available to walk or drive on, and if driving make sure you have a four wheeled vehicle. You will see wild horses too.

We were on the beach for quite awhile. 4 wheel drive vehicles only...if not you will get stuck! Saw horses, wild Spanish mustangs on the beach, lots of fishermen and just as many beach goers. The tide was out so driving near the weather was better than further in towards the dunes. Lots of beautiful houses which surprised me because... More

I find this place fascinating! I enjoy the fact that this actual named road is a beach. I suppose it is a 4 lane road at low tide and a 2 lane road at high tide. I drove on it once when I had a truck, and what a fun ride! The wild horses are just stunning. Beautiful and majestic... More

At some point people have homes back from the beach that they can only access by driving over the beach. Gotta time those grocery trips right or you're held up by high tides. We used Corolla Outback Adventure for our tour and saw quite a few horses, some of which were grazing in a homeowners front yard. Went through some... More

Beautiful creatures. We were lucky to see a few of them after the storm that flooded the area behind the dunes.

We did not see the horses directly on the beach, just a lot of four wheeled vehicles. Water nice and lots of unusual shells. Go off season if possible.

On the final day of our vacation we went four wheeling on the beach. We were able to go up over the dunes in specific areas and back into the area of beach houses on this unspoiled section of the beach. We saw our first wild horse inside a carport of one of the beach houses. As we looked further... More

Surf was a little rough, but great weather, saw wild horses, up thru 4x4 area. Overall a great day, enjoyed watching the NY/NJ idiots in their $100k Cadillac SUVs getting stuck...lol

Unspoiled beach in a non commercial setting. Went to the lighthouse and walked around the small village there. At the museum we were given interesting information about the history of Corolla and the Spanish mustangs. We toured the beach to see the horses. A unique and special experience across the beach and dunes. A must if you go there.
