Nor'Banks Sailing & Watersports is the premier sailing and water sports location on the Outer Banks. Established in 1979, Nor'Banks has always been a leader in the industry and provides quality equipment, excellent customer service, and a safe environment for everyone. Nor'Banks offers the most complete water sports center on the OBX, with Waverunners, Parasailing, Wake Boarding, Waterskiing, Tubing, Kayaks, SUP, Tours, Pontoon Boat Rentals and Sailing (Rentals, Lessons, Youth Camps and Sales). The waterfront location is amazing with bathrooms, showers, 200-foot pier, and a grassy lawn. Nor'Banks is now the OBX Hobie Cat dealer and features all of their amazing boats for rental and for sale. We have a full restaurant and bar right above us! Come enjoy a day on the water and a night on the town.

Adam, Shawn and Ethan were great! We went with our family - 2 adults and 2 kids (8 and 10). The crew made the experience fun while remaining extremely professional. We have already recommended to friends and family!

I went tubing back in August and now in September. The staff is very friendly and wants to make sure you have fun while on the water. It’s great for groups or going alone. An hour quickly goes by and it’s worth every penny. Would and will come back again!

Went parasailing and jet skiing through Nor’Bank. Excellent company and very accommodating. Sean and Adam were the best parasailing captains! Would definitely recommend!

There were 14 of us (7 adults & 7 kids) that rented a pontoon boat for 3 hours. Our experience was wonderful! All staff were friendly and knowledgable. The boat was beautiful & clean. Many of the kids said the pontoon boat was their favorite experience of our 1 week OBX vacation. Thank you Nor'Banks Sailing & Watersports for a great time!

I had the most amazing experience with Nor Banks Sailing! Sean and Adam were an absolute delight to have as guides during the parasailing adventure. Their professionalism and extensive knowledge about the activity ensured that I felt safe and comfortable throughout. But it wasn't just about the technicalities – their genuine enthusiasm and charismatic personalities made the entire experience incredibly fun and enjoyable. Spending time with them felt like being with friends who are experts in their field.
I must say that Sean and Adam truly went above and beyond to make the adventure memorable. Their attention to detail and the way they effortlessly managed every aspect of the trip was truly commendable. If I could, I'd give them a raise myself for the outstanding service they provided.
I can't wait to visit Nor Banks Sailing again for another fantastic experience, and a big part of that anticipation is knowing that Sean and Adam will be there to make it truly special once more! Five stars are not enough to convey how grateful I am for their excellent guidance and the wonderful memories they helped create.
I must say that Sean and Adam truly went above and beyond to make the adventure memorable. Their attention to detail and the way they effortlessly managed every aspect of the trip was truly commendable. If I could, I'd give them a raise myself for the outstanding service they provided.

Had a fantastic time renting the Bennington, the large pontoon boat last week! Turns out we could have used a smaller boat, with Grandma not coming, but this larger boat gave everyone room to move around.
A very professional orientation for first-time boating on the Sound, followed by a great trip around the Sound. We anchored off the mainland for the boys to jump in & they had a fantastic time.
there was a bit of a chop, but we had the best time regardless.
We will rent again next time we're back!

I did Parasailing early on a beautiful day in the outer banks. From the check in staff, "delivery" driver Rodney, and sailing guides Sean and Adam, all the staff were wonderful and made for an amazing experience for my first time. Felt safe and had a blast. Thank you all and I will rebook when I return.

Great experience on the Jet Skiis. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful as it was my sons first time driving one. They have safety circling the waters. I would definitely come and recommend!

With COVID-19 will you be extending your season into October??? We are coming down in October and hope to be able to do some sort of water sport. Are most places closed after September?

Can we rent 2 paddle boards for a week, but keep them at your location? So different members of the group can drop in and use after they sign any required waivers? If so, is there a weekly rate?

Do you need your boaters license to operate pontoon boat?

Great question! While we recommend it, North Carolina does not require that you have a boater's license when renting from a watersports business. We'll give you a thorough safety orientation and take time to make sure you are comfortable operating the boat. If you would like to get your boater safety certificate you can take a free online course from BoatUS. See you on the water!

There is a huge maze of islands to the North of Nor' Banks. That's usually where we go tubing. The water is calm to allow for mild and wild rides and the scenery is great for both riders and observers.
Our trips are private for up to six at a time and pricing varies based on the size of your group, day of the week and additional options, such as adding wakeboard or waterski instruction. You can always find current pricing on our website.
