The center itself was closed when we went by, though it looked good peeking through the windows. Our interest was in the surrounding hiking trails, which have some interesting views and easy terrain.

The lake is gorgeous but cannot be seen unless you take a walk through this well maintained, canopy covered park. Talk to the Rangers, they are full of fascinating information about the furry and feathery animals that thrive here!

Nice location to bring the kids or grandkids. Often host a opportunity to see/feed some of the local turtles. Located adjacent to the Cape Fear River Trail, a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy nature.
