Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Came here for a fun activity when my parents and preteen siblings were in town. None of us had ever climbed rock walls before. I opted in for the belay class (they offer two options... harness/rope to climb high = reqires belay class, no gear and climb low = no prerequisite. however, as a beginner I had no idea what they were talking about and they did a horrible job explaining my options when I came in... it was very much like pulling teeth. Hopefully this description helps someone avoid the condescending smiles I got when I asked them to elaborate on what "belay" means, etc). Overall the experience was good, the belay instructions were not difficult, and there were plenty of walls of varying difficulty levels to choose from. It gets hot, bring your own chalk or rent some if your hands tend to get slick in the heat. Also, check their website and pick a day when they offer special pricing(ex: Tuesday evening is only $13 for gear, belay class, and climb time) as it can otherwise add up and get expensive.

I have visited climbing gyms all over the country and The Climbing Place in Fayetteville is outstanding! Most of the staff is nice and helpful. There was one, typical to these types of business, employee who walks around with a chip on her shoulder because she can perform a few acrobatic and climbing tricks. Personally, I was not impressed and would be happy to invite the "princess" to enjoy a "three-day" climbing and "bivi" up the nose route of El Cap!
While she seemed to be annoyed by the numerous kids enjoying the gym, someone should remind her it is most likely the parents of those kids who foot the bill to keep the lights on at the gym.

In summary, The Climbing Place is an excellent gym good for advanced climbers, beginners, or any other person seeking an alternate to their normal workout routine

My husband and I love doing active things for date night instead of a dinner and movie. The staff at The Climbing Place were helpful and friendly, and I felt safe after our belaying class. There were other people there, but it never felt full. We will definitely be going back!

This is a great place for couples to go. My bf and I went and we def. gained a new side of trust for each other. Rock wall climbing isn't as easy as it looks. You have great instructors who take you through a 20 minute tutorial then you are on your own for thrilling fun. We had a great time but I will admit I was exhausted from climbing after an hour. Check it out.

I have been here several times since I discovered this place existence.

I came with my family which consisted of Mostly all young adults and 1 teen. This is a Great family activity no matter how inexperienced the climber.

My husband and I came here as a couple with friends and it was a great date night with friends.

My oldest adult son and I would come weekly for regularly skills training and work out and look forward to getting back into a weekly routine the start of the new year.

Great hang out with my girlfriends while their young kids enjoy the special kid friendly climbing equipment.
One of the young instructors is amazing with kids and she is a highly skilled competitor in her field. (ask for Nadia)

The atmosphere is family friendly and creative as the walls are constantly redesigned regularly to challenge skills from the least experience to the most experiences climber (my friend Ranger instructor).

It’s a great activity to do on cold raining days and they have all the equipment for rent there.

We've been coming here for almost a year now. The family membership is a good deal for frequent climbers. Otherwise there are family specials and military specials during the week. The staff is knowledgeable and always friendly. It's recently renovated, so there's air conditioning now too to make summer climbing even more enjoyable. The kids area is now bigger too, so my children are starting to really enjoy coming with us. We've been to other newer climbing gyms, but this one is still my favorite for its family atmosphere.

Love, love, love this place! This is the oldest -and from our experience, the best! -climbing facilty in NC. They have exceptional staff who take the time to orient you to the sport of climbing and a spacious facility for people of all ages and abilities. You could spend a whole day here and still find things to do! A great value, made even better by letting you borrow climbing shoes! Give this place a try!
