I've read a little bit of Thomas Wolfe, but not a whole lot. Very easy to find. Driving through the cemetery, some of the roads are a little tight. Beautiful statue and a nice sign by the road, telling a brief history.

Within walking distance for me, I found it touching and educational. Highly recommended if you are in Hendersonville.

I came back to visit this statue as it was recently cleaned and checked out for needed repairs. It has already had a lot of repairs during the 100 years that it has been at the cemetery. Hopefully the next repairs will carry it through another 100 years.

Very nice angel statue connected to Thomas Wolfe. Statue is near the highway and is easy to find. Well marked by a historical marker on the highway.

This is the stone angel mentioned in the book, 'Look Homeward Angel'. It is in a cermentary, across from an elementary school, along a very BUSY road. There's no peace and quiet here, and the traffic is constantly whizzing by. If you liked the author and the book, it's worth a view.

It's hard to rate something like this - the rating depends upon the interests of the reviewer. Some will love it. Others will shrug their shoulders. For the Thomas Wolfe fan, you may enjoy stopping, reading the plaque, and reflecting on his novel. If you are not a fan, you might see everything just by looking at the TripAdvisor photos... More

Unless you are a Thomas Wolfe fan, this isn't a must see. It's supposed to be the one he actually references, although there are several others also in existence. You can see it in the gated area as you drive by on the main road.

This statue, surrounded by a black wrought iron fence can be spotted from the road if you're not the one driving, and a state highway plaque sits along Brevard Road (Highway 64) just a few yards away. The statue came from Italy by Thomas Wolfe's father and was bought by the Johnson Family with this gravesite being owned by the... More
