after hiking chimney rock all morning, my eight-year-old son and I ventured out to Stepp's farm for our first time apple picking. It is definitely an afternoon we will never forget. From the genuinely friendly "farm hands" who helped direct us, to the most delicious selection of apples and challengingly fun corn maze, Stepp's orchard is not to be missed!

My husband and I visited on a Sunday morning at the beginning of October. We had never been before but the staff was eager and happy to explain it all to us. It wasn't busy when we got there but traffic picked up as we left. We picked so many of our own apples, drank cider, ate donuts and got... More

This is one of the highlights of our year to take grandkids picking apples at this place. It can be difficult to get to but worth the trip off I-26 as there is always alot to do and apples are delicious. I really enjoyed the new play area for kids with slides and haybales and the apple cannons ($5 for... More

The orchard has grown quite a bit over the years and now offers attractions such as an apple cannon various corn mazes and slides for the kids. There's an excellent variety of apples to be sampled and picked as well as apple based treats and confections. Well worth the trip for the day and excellent for a picnic.

We always return here in late September to pick apples from their orchards. So much fun and so many people totally agree based on the number of people. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The apple orchards are so easy to maneuver through. We brought back a bushel!

I did not know there were so many kinds of apples. small playground for the kids and cool air cannon to fire apples long distances at targets. Stepps is one of the farms we visit when we go to Hendersonville, and while it isn't the attraction that one of the other farms we visit (petting zoo, corn maze etc) it is certainly worth the traveler's time. Lots of wonderful apples and pleasant and helpful staff.

While visiting the apple festival in Hendersonville we came here looking to pick our own apples with my children. Everyone had a really fun experience. They have plenty of trees to choose from when picking your apples. Also, they have an apple shooting machine that lets kids do target practice with apples. This was really neat and my son came... We just had our third annual visit to Stepp's Hillcrest Orchard and it is always a wonderful experience!! We are greeted by the wonderful people running the orchard and they are happy to answer any questions I may have, no matter how silly ;). We started the day by grabbing a wagon and going to find the perfect apples in... More
