The trail starts beside the gravel parking lot on US 70, just south of the junction with NC208. It follows an old railroad (all removed, just the track bed left) alongside Laurel Creek for just under 4 miles to the junction with French Broad River....More

This is an easy going walk along the river, easy for almost everyone. Dog friendly and photo worthy. I have walked this trail many times with my dog and sometimes other humans. Even in the winter when the river is full of ice it is...More

Great easy hike. You walk by the river the whole time. It was beautiful. There are so many places you can get in the water on a hot summer day.

This is not so much a hike but it's a really nice, easy walk along the river. There are lots of spots where you can very easily get out into the water, so it's a nice place to walk in the summer especially.
