No water in the cascata
Aug 2018 • Couples
Went there on a hot day in August and hiked for about 1,5 hours to the aquacheta only to find it was completely dried out. However, the walk itself takes you along a stream and through the forest which is totally worth it. Walking through the trees it is nice and cool and there are only a few climbs along the route. The beginning of the trail is very nice as well as you find several places to stop and sit in/near the river (lots of people swimming) or at some picknick tables. The walk back from the fall took little more than one hour as we did not stop for the view.

Family needed to cool off
Aug 2017 • Family
We persuaded our family of teenagers to hike the 1 and half hours to see this wonder of nature and then spent the next few hours playing down the fact the waterfall had dried up for the summer. Having said that, they all agreed the river pools which they plunged into on their way back, were one of the highlights of their holiday. Like us, people had come from miles around to picnic and seek shade next to the river and as an added bonus there were smaller waterfalls to keep the children quiet and for me to rest my weary feet.

Woodland path...
Jun 2017 • Friends
A pleasant stroll with a few steep and muddy patches. It might be sensible to check with the locals as to recent rainfall since the falls can be reduced to a trickle - this year was good.

It worth the visit all year round, but to see the waterfall in its beauty it's better in spring or autumn.

The waterfall is easy to reach by a very pleasant path That just starts up town, and it's all signed with the white / red stripes along the way.
The walk takes an hour and half and less if you are used to hike, and you get in front of the waterfall.
I suggest to do a little effort 'more and go on the track up to the small waterfall, then here cross the river on your left and then follow the climb up to the "flat of the Romiti".
Here a wide meadow surrounded by mountains, will amaze you.
On your left, in the middle of a intricate brambles tangle, there are Also the ruins of an ancient monastry and you can also get to the top of the big watrfall.
Mind your steps here, but go! And enjoy.

Very nice walk
Sep 2015 • Family
There is free parking in San Benedetto in Alpe beside the river. The route to the waterfall is well sign-posted and paths are easy to navigate.

The route is a lovely walk through the forest with great views of the river and valley. It took us roughly 1 hr 15 minutes at a moderate-quick pace. With breaks it may take between 1.5 ans 2 hours The walk is easy-medium difficulty, and I would not recommend it for young children or the elderly.

The waterfall is stunning and well worth visiting if you have time to spare!

A day out
Aug 2015 • Family
Wonderful option to escape the heat and crowd.
A walk by the river, enjoying the sound of water.
Semi-easy walk, mostly in the shade.
The fall is w/o water in August
But plenty of water in the small ponds,
Very long drive through the mountains.
Take food and have a picnic..
