We went to Wrights Brothers National memorial on our way out of town after visiting the outer banks for the weekend . It was nice and informative but it defiantly involves ALOT of walking and climbing ! Thank goodness we went in Feb on a 70 degree day instead of a really hot day ! The views from the top... More

The Wright Brothers memorial was one of the best attractions during our stay at the OuterBanks. The highlights being the real life size figure statues of the brothers and the people involved in the first flight. The memorial on top of the hill is awesome and gives very good views of the land below. This was a very educational experience.

Although February and very cold the ranger gave us an interesting and educational discussion of the Wright Brothers flights. The museum is closed for two years but the experience is still well worth a visit. The walk to the monument is a fabulous thing to do. This is a must see attraction on the Outer Banks.

This is a fascinating and very educational Memorial. There's a small museum/gift shop that houses the replica of the first airplane and a short presentation every two hours. It's a good place to visit in the Outer Banks to get some history lesson of the first flight. My kids and i enjoyed going to the markers where the Wright Brothers... More

Visited with our boys while down on spring break. Sat in on the tour and boys found it very interesting. Would recommend to families.

Make a special trip to see this historic site. On our recent visit, we took advantage of the talk by the park ranger, Jenny. She was fantastic.....she made the Wright brothers and their determination to do the impossible come alive. In the early 1900's, they traveled to Kill Devil Hills from Ohio because it was the eighth windiest place in... More

I've been here several times and always enjoy the visit. There is such a feeling and sense of history here; I think the only other place that would be similar is Launch Complex 39A at the John F. Kennedy Space Center.
