To see this is dependent on the tides. The bright green looks like grass in the distance but upon closer inspection it’s probably an algae or the like. The rocks are sharp under bare feet. Wear shoes.

Glad I found this on tripadvisor! Must do at lowtide. Spend some time searching the tide pools for marine life. Stay off the rocks that are green, slippery for sure. May even go back a second time!

Have to catch these at Lowest tide and make sure to wear good water shoes so ya don't slip. Great for a photo op and a good place to find some shells and coral.

Go to see this. Wear protective foot wear. Worth the calculation of low tide and hike, along the ocean, to see this beauty. Be careful to protect the environment... So it's still a happy place when you leave!!!

This is a must see if at Fort Fisher or Kure Beach, NC. However, you won't see it if you go at high tide. Go during low tide to see these beautiful large rocks along the beach. Look under them and you will discover cool...More

Took my two daughter to Fort Fisher and after we walked Kure Beach across the street. What I thought would be a quick thing to do (at low tide) turned into over an hour of poking around the rocks. Very pretty and fun for pictures.

Coquina Outcrop at Fort Fisher/Kure Beach is hands-down a must see if you live in north carolina. I live in Wilmington and go often during the low tides. You must go when it is low tide or you will not be able to see all...More

Stumbled upon this by seeing pics on facebook. You have to go at low tide and can park at Ft. Fisher and walk back up north the beach. Our kids love them and the trees at Ft. Fisher are also awesome!

Went today, 11/02, during low tide. It is the only time you can see the tidal pools, and it is less dangerous. I hear from others that you can get hurt when the tide is higher. You have to climb huge rocks to get to...More
