What an incredible find! I came here 43 years ago. It is the end of the island so water is all around you. Very well maintained. Huge facility for large groups. Very reasonable prices on rooms and food.

I tried 3 times to get in and enjoy some military history and understand more of an important piece of the ACW through WWII that this fort played. I was turned away 3 times on 3 separate days. I was flat out lied to one...More

This fort is part of the North Carolina Baptist Assembly property now. It is protected by a guard at a gate. You're not supposed to be on the property, but he let us walk through. Great views from the top- you can see the beach...More

They will let you drive through and look with a permit and some of the of fort is still there. It is a Baptist retreat now

I love Fort Caswell, great for retreats of any kind. As lots of history on the grounds and around. Love the history of the place.
