The story of this monument is amazing. How did they manage to move it some hundred yards away from it's original place

Everybody we saw wanted their picture taken in front of the lighthouse. Be sure and rent a golf cart to tour the island because of narrow streets and limited parking.

We saw it coming in on the ferry and then wandered around to look at it. This is just a few minutes to check out as the inside is not open. Italy’s for great pictures especially when they sky in the background is interesting.

Quite interesting to see one of the earliest lighthouses on the east coast. It makes for a nice bike excursion.

Very limited parking, boardwalk to walk up to it, but not able to enter it. Spent 5 minutes there on the way to Springers Preserve.

Don't miss seeing this charming lighthouse not only up close, but also from across Silver Lake Harbor.

Picturesque beauty abounds here and if you're going to visit, seek out Springers Point in the inlet. It's where Blackbeard lost his head, and it's also a nature preserve with great views and sea glass for collectors.

Always a stop by when in Ocracoke. One of the oldest lighthouses. We ride our bikes out, walk up to the lighthouse and then back. Just experiencing a little piece of history.
