Make sure to check out the cemetery in the back of the lighthouse. This is one of the lighthouses on the list of NC light houses. Make sure to visit all of them as you travel up the coast.

Short walk on a boardwalk to the lighthouse. It is not open for tour and read where one needs to go to the Visitor Center to inquire when it is open. There is parking and some history posted to read.

The Ocracoke Light House is and awsome. Light house to see in a area tight with houses. This is a must see with lots of history. It was a start of a fun day.

Went on family vacation and wanted to see the lighthouses in North Carolina. This was a great lighthouse to visit. Had interesting information about it. Only thing is that you can not climb it due to it still working. Very interesting.

There are about five parking Spots at this lighthouse. It’s off a little side road (lighthouse rd) and you really have to look for the signs marking which way to go. We drove past it the first time. Once you park it’s a quick little...More

You can’t visit the inside of the lighthouse and it’s not super impressive from the outside. Not worth the walk.

Just what you see in the pics. It's off the beaten path, but not that far! It's not open to climb, but the historical marker is there to read and a small box for donations to the upkeep. Thanks!

It's nice to look at from the outside, but it's closed to the public. According to Mom, it's been this way for years. I hope they open it back up to the public one day.

Awesome historic site. The keepers quarters once also used to house District Rangers of the US National Park Service assigned to Ocracoke District of the Cape Hatterad National Seashore. Light is maintained by the U S Coast Guard.
