The parking lot fills up quickly so best get there early. It is a pleasant hike not too strenuous and worth it as the Falls at the end are beautiful. Not a hike if you don't want to see lots of people as it does...More

A wonderful, relaxing experience. Can't wait to go back in the fall. The trail is so pretty and well cared for. You can't get lost. It isn't a hard hike and the falls are gorgeous!

There is a nice parking area and a bathroom available at the parking area. The hike to the Falls is on a very well groomed trail that I would call moderate simply due to the elevation change. The Falls are beautiful. If you are interested...More

Catawba Water Falls is truly a gem in the rough. Although the trip to the falls was clear, it was a very tiring trip and well worth it.

We hiked the Falls trail on a summer Monday with quite a few hikers of various ages and abilities. Gentle incline up to the top of the falls. About one and a quarter miles up to the top, so very doable. Lots of families on...More

This gorgeous, multi-tiered waterfall is the headwaters of the Catawba River. It's easy to find, good parking area and a well marked trail. The two bridges are great! There is a kiosk noting the various rules, safety warnings, etc. While it's a beautiful location, it's...More

Very pretty area. 4-5 areas that you can stop on trail and let kids play. Lots of trees and shade. Wasn't a very challenging uphill hike (8 months pregnant and did it...took it slow and easy). Would love to go again when it's not raining.

My family and I managed to make it to Upper Catawba Falls and the work to get there was worth the view!

We are not hikers by any stretch of the imagination. The weather was a warm and the hike (mostly uphill) encouraged us to keep going with smaller falls along the way. Once we finally got to the top - with much help from a fallen,...More

We hiked to the falls several years ago when the trail was not maintained, you had to go around a gate and use stepping stones to cross the river. Now there is a parking lot, restroom facilities, a maintained hiking trail and bridges. This is...More

Yes! You can swim in the water areas. Next time I plan to take water shoes and a towel.

Yes, there is a parking lot and directional signage and info about the trail (and bathrooms). Dogs are allowed on a leash and it is easy enough for a dog to walk it.
