Thought that I would try to squeeze in some sightseeing and the birder in me thought this would offer an opportunity to both see flowers and birds. The gardens were larger than I expected with a larger variety in the kinds of vegetation that was available for viewing. I was surprised by the variety and the size.

this garden is a gem. 32 acres of theme gardens. Gardens include...Children's garden, succulent, woodland, Japanese, conifer, perennial, azalea, butterfly and holly gardens. It is the largest holly collection east of the Mississippi. Beautiful hillside stream & pond too. The gardens are maintained by the students in the Landscape Gardening program of the college and they do an amazing job!... More

Searched for a botanical garden for a Cub Scout requirement, and was pleased to find this one free, as I wasn't sure how long my young boy would last. Whole family went and loved the wandering paths, water features, and themed structures with benches. All got distracted from the heat in the formal English garden, listening to the fountains bubble,... More

The garden that is a classroom and place for students to practice their craft. I attended classes here many years before the gardens existed. I believe I remember one instructor, Robert Hayter, talking about his dream to start this. So much thought work and time, and what a fantastic way to get a broad range of experiences under your belt... More

Wow! What a hidden gem. I have visited here for years, and since moved here. We have driven by the gardens many times and never stopped. What a mistake on our part. Not only are there a variety of gardens, but beautiful sculptures throughout, and nice paths and bridges. I would recommend this to everyone, even the golfers!
