We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My sister and I were down with our husbands for the weekend. The boys played a couple rounds of golf and we spent most of the days at the spa and in the village. Was a beautiful day. Had a cup of coffee at the book shop and visited the shops. Cute shops with unique items. My sister and I were in yoga pants and were dressed very casually. When we entered the “Le Feme Chateaux”, we were clearly not welcomed. In all my years, I have never experienced this level of snobbery first-hand. My sister and I laughed about the scene from “Pretty Women”. Actually felt kind of sorry for her and wondered if she realizes she’s in retail!!! Bless her heart! Other than this one snob, we were met with kindness and treated so nicely. Warm welcomes and smiles all around otherwise- would come again but would never step into that shop again.

Drove up for the day and enjoyed the quaint shops in the village. Lunch at the Village Deli was excellent. Visited some antique stores. Nice products but VERY expensive. One of the owners apparently buys her items overseas in the UK and wants everyone to pay for her vacations if several weeks. Unrealistic prices but the area has too many Northerners that comes down and buy homes and are foolish enough to pay the exhorbitant prices! Great way to spend an afternoon shopping but pricing in many places reflect that many people have more money than brains!!!

Thought we’d spend a good afternoon, but went through the entire village in an hour. Limited shopping and no place to get a good cup of coffee. (Found out later to go to the library for coffee). Also beware of all the steps/stairs and uneven walkways to the shops. Definitely not ADA compliant— not accessible for wheelchairs, or those with walking limitations. We had to carry our friends baby stroller up and down stairs to get into shops.

My son moved to Pinehurst this past summer. I trust his judgment and his thoughtful opinions, and I must say he has really enjoyed the Pinehurst area, the shops, and scenery of this delightful small town. My wife and I will visit this spring 2020. I look forward to it. I think many of us spend our lives searching for not necessarily perfection, but some small spaces where we can feel a sense of community, preferably in places that are free of large crowds, heavy traffic, away from the malls and the busy interstate highways. I am told that Pinehurst is prosperous, but not tacky, inviting but not glitzy or terribly tourist obsessed. My son says it is a nice place to live, and if it can manage to control growth and resist losing its southern charm, it can remain an oasis of relaxation and peaceful rest for visitors and residents alike.

I have visited Pinehurst several times, I would say best time for visit is spring and then fall. I love the book store and the coffee shop inside the store . Most of other stores and restaurants are close in Sundays so be prepare for that.

Pinehurst is most beautiful in the spring time. We often walk through this area during spring as the flowers all blooming and it becomes the most charming little place to be. We like going to the former post office which has been turned into a coffee shop, the Roast Office. The coffee there is 10 times better than Starbucks. All of the places to eat there are very good and they have a few local and international foods to chose from. You also need to stop by the Pinehurst Olive Oil Company and taste their varieties of different olive oils. It’s difficult to walk out of there without buying anything because they have by far the best dipping and cooking olive oil flavors.

This has to be one of the best consignment stores I have ever visited! Fun, hip, vintage fashion, art and jewelry..Small space filled with fabulous finds and everyone there is so friendly and helpful. The owner, Linda looks as if she just stepped off the runway and was so helpful with lutting together an outfit for me...love love love this place...

This is Pinehurst. Everyone is unhurried, so shops may not open until 11 AM or not at all!
So, have a leisurely breakfast at the Villager Deli and then start exploring the shops.
Purple Thistle is a sweet shop that carries everything to make fabulous Bloody Marys, along with great cookies, kitchen towels and other novel gifts for yourself or friends.
Do visit Lady Bedford's Tea Parlor, even if you aren't going to eat there.
All shops are unique. Take the time to visit as many as you can. End with the Corner Store, a new shop that has absolutely everything from pain relievers to good wine and homemade ice cream.
