The park and the mill offer a nice spot to just relax and enjoy the moment. Listening to the water go over the falls is mesmerizing. If you cross over Lassiter Mill Road you can pick up the greenway for a nice walk through the "woods."

I'm not rating it excellent because there is nothing excellent about hurricane damage. I'm rating it excellent because of the amazing power of the water. If you go back and look at the old pictures you will see what the falls normally look like. The noise of the falls was unbelievable. By the time we left cars were lined up... More

From the parking lot to the old mill location is probably 100-200 feet. To get down in front of the falls it is pure sand. If you are not coordinated lol have fun. It is a great place to take some photos and relax for a while.

What a beautiful place! Had some time to kill late afternoon. So my daughter and I took a quick 20 minute drive here. Very pretty and peaceful spot. There's a plaque explaining the history of the mill. ,but the mill itself is gone. All in all its a great spot to sit and reflect on a sunny afternoon!

This is a great area to visit and enjoy. There are great trails for either a walk, run or bike ride. We walk these trails all the time regardless of the time of year. Give it a look, it's worth it.

This is a small Raleigh historic park with a nice waterfall sort of like a dam actually. You can walk real close to the falls in the sandy area below. It is located in a residential neighborhood and has some parking but it is limited. Nice peaceful area. Good place to go after heavy rains when the water flow is... More

1 main reason for not going back. The residents that stay around the area are bias to who they would like to visit this oasis. It is good to have community watch but tone it down a little. I've been harassed by police for no reason twice. It totally blows the possible beautiful experience.

There are now houses built around the old Lassiter Mill site but it is still a nice place to go to chill out. Kids can play in the sand, you can bring a picnic lunch, you can fish, and you can keep your eyes open for blue heron.
