Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a small temple within the Ancestral Temple complex. Foshan's Confucius Temple is not really a touristy place with quite few visitors when compared with other attractions. The temple itself is newly renovated with very little illustration. Most tourists will leave the place clueless.

This is a old temple built for Confucius. This is very near Zumiao metro station.
You find the memorial hall for IP Man in the left side. Further you find the practice of martial arts and the lion dance. There are shows at certain times of the year.
Then the Confucius temple which is majestic.
Overall I liked the visit and purchased quite a few souvenirs here.

The Confucius Temple is in the same compound of the Ancestral Temple where you can also find Foshan Zumiao Museum, Foshan Huang Feihong Memorial Hall and the Ip Man Tong, The entrance fee is only 25RMB which is a great value.

This is under a different name but it's actually the same place as the ancestral temple...! You should move the reviews from here to the ancestral temple one as that's the real name for the temple! X

I was staying within walking distance of this place but didn't visit until the last day of the holiday. It was Chinese new year and so was very busy. They had a martial arts display and the Lion dance which were both very good. In the main arena they had some kind of Chinese Opera which was really not that great but lots of people were watching so maybe it was a cultural thing. There were lots of souvenirs available and more incense sticks than I have ever smelled in my life before. The vast majority of people were Chinese families visiting the temple and whilst very busy was a good experience

If you have a chance to visit to FOSHAN, this is one of the main attraction there, ZUMIAO, a very old historical temple. You would be able to have a chance to watch traditional lion dance (they will try to sell you some hand gifts) and Chaozhou Opera. Anyway, the entrance fee for ZUMIAO is 20RMB.

This temple is on the grounds of the more impressive Zu Miao. It is small and not particularly noteworthy. If you go to Zu Miao, then, obviously, go and see it too, but don't expect too much. You can try and throw your wish on the wishing tree there - that's pretty good fun.

It is often difficult to find some typical - old style- places in China, much has been replaced by new, modern buildings. So this is really a nice calm temple complex very close to the shopping center (or one of them) in Foshan. A multitude of temples, old buildings etc. I did recall the place as the Foshahn Zumian museum, there is not only the Confusius temple, but also a building dedicated to the Kung Fu masters, local potteries, and other temples. Closes early, around 18:00.
