Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Tianzi Mountain or Tianzishan Cableway (Cable Car) is the longest and also the highest cable car in the whole of Wulingyuan Scenic Area.

Definitely take the cable car up to the top, the views from the ride are fantastic. At the top, theres many observation areas, souvenir shops, even a giant McDonald's. It is quite crowded with tour groups in the middle of summer, I found the locals not very helpful with directions. It was cool even in summer. We took the 2 hr hike back down to ten mile gallery. It is very shady, but bring your own water and snacks. I believe you can hike down to south gate too, but was told that path isn't as scenic.

Lots of things to do in Tianmen Mountain - aside from going to the Cave (Heaven's Gate) you can take also the longest cable in the world and enjoy the mountain scenery. During our July visit we saw a lot of butterflies alay.

In the evening there's also a show with the mountains as the backdrop - a love story about the fox lady and a farmer which spanned a thousand years. One of the best shows in Zhangjiajie ❤️

like all the other spots of the park, the clouds and fog make the view more mysterious and impressive.

At the base of the cable car trip it is was cold and dialing but as we started the climb, we reached the clouds which completely whitewashed the whole scenery, as the clouds cleared, what we saw was just magical out of the world scenery. It was snowing, while we were going up, when we reached the top the scenes are enough to make you forget the bitter cold

Our visit to the mountain area was on the second day and we had some amazing photos because we were lucky not to be so foggy on our day tour. The place is breathtaking and it was a great experience. P.s don't miss the cable car because it's another 30 mins ride which is full of amazing views.

Located in the northwest of Wulingyuan Scenic Area, Tianzi Mountain makes up a ''golden triangle'' along with Zhangjiajie Forest Park and Suoxiyu Valley. The range undulates 40 kilometers and covers an area of 5400 hectares. The main peak of Tianzi Mountain dwarfs others and rises 1262.5 meters above sea level. Thanks to the advent of cable car, we are able to admire its fairy-tale landscape with the minimum effort. Besides, Tianzi Mountain provides us with some 100 natural viewing platforms.

Sea of clouds, sunrise, snow-covered peaks in winter and wavelike rocky peaks. Tianzi Mountain illustrates how fantastic the Earth can be. The range’s formation is surprising: there were once sedimentary rocks growing beneath the waters of an ancient ocean, which ultimately became quartz sandstones. Today, the layer of quartz rocks as old as 380 million years old, as thick as 500 or 600 meters, caps the Tianzi Mountain.

Most likely the 30 minute cable ride is one of the trilling cable car rides anywhere. The sights along the way are breath taking. We had a little fog but the views were still fantastic. Unbelievable views when it cleared up a bit. Not to be missed.

Nice spot to take photographs. Obviously the beauty of the view depends also on the weather conditions. A must-see if you’re already inside Wulingyuan Forest Park.

Tianzi Mountain area was probably the second most crowded area in the park with many lining up to take the cable car for the views (plenty of good view points can be accessed wi5out the cable car ride) of Sandstone Peak Forest. For those fit enough, it’s a two hour downhill hike to Suoxi Valley which offers more viewing platforms on the way down. Even going downhill, the hike can be exhausting in hot weather.
