Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I only had about an hour before closing time, but wanted to echo other comments that the museum is well-done. Most of the exhibits are bilingual (Chinese and English), and the English text is very clear. In our short time, we viewed exhibits on regional history related to the Silk Road, history of the Xixia kingdom, and more recent history of Chairman Mao in Ningxia. I definitely would like to return!
A couple things to know -- the museum is closed on Mondays, and otherwise open from 9:00 a.m. until 4:50 p.m. Best of all, it's free.

We are very impressed with the information was displayed in this Museum. Make sure you have enough time to learn everything before you walk over to the Imperial Tombs

The front the 3-story building displays middle eastern architecture and design; the entrance to the museum is guarded by two magnificent qilin. Once inside you can quickly gain an understanding of how Ningxia became the region it is today due to the Silk Road. You'll learn about the Hui ethnic minority group, descending from Silk Road travelers, whose ancestors include Central Asians, Arabs and Persians who married Hans. I highly recommend a visit if you are into Chinese art, history and culture.

I rarely visit museums as I get carried away and don't want to leave. When you're only in a city briefly that prevents you visiting other places of interest. Yinchuan is the exception. On my 3rd visit to the city I'm happy to spend all day here.

This was a very well curated museum which explains the history of NingXia and YinChuan.
The permanent exhibit includes the petroglyphs of Neolithic NingXia, the histories, religions, arts of the area. And there is a special section concerning the Silk Road and YinChuan.
The museum is well worth the visit and answered some questions I had regarding NingXia and its situation with the neighboring province of GanSu.

I spent about 2 hours one afternoon in the Ningxia Museum. It exhibits are related to the Ningxia people and its history from prehistoric to now. There is a very interesting rock collection on the main floor. They look like food such as beef, pork bellies, cheeses, nuts, etc. Quite amazing. it is worth a quick visit.
