Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Built in 1903 by a businessman , this temple is quite literally covered with colored glass and mirrors - on walls , floor and ceiling. A curio worth a visit. It is part of a large , lovely heritage mansion ,( suffering from lack of whitewash /paint ) on a crowded street . Photography inside this temple is expressly prohibited, but some visitors can be seen disregarding this rule.

I went there in the morning but was devoid entry after confirming that I am not Jain and there is a pooja going on, so there were people inside and i could hear them, but their god apparently only wanted to see jains at that time! I had gone specially for a visit! It is beyond my understanding which God sees a deciple after confirming their religion? And if there is one, sorry not interested!

Nothing much. Skippable. If you have seen the kaanch palace in Jaipur, this is no match. Besides it is now been converted to a Jain temple so non-Jains are strongly discouraged.

However, there's a large wall depiction of the Wheel of life acc to Jainism..

Are you a jain? I said NO.
They said, then come after 10:30am (it was 8:40am) I explained them that my train is scheduled just after 1 hour and i coming from a long way just to see the temple.
They did not accepted and they talked to me very rudely after that.
Very bad experience.

By basics only, this temple is very weak because temple is a place where anyone is welcome at anytime, It doesn’t discriminate the person by his religion. And asking someone what is your religion before entering into the temple, what’s can be bad then this??

Kaanch Mandir,is a Digambar Jain Temple, full coverage of 2 floors by Mirror/glass. Its a private temple belonging to Kasliwal family, and its remain open for general public during day time. Jain religious people offer their pooja . Its too clean. From outside its a stone building. If any body visits Indore,he must atleast see this marvelous family effort, built some 60/70 before.

Looks like an ordinary Jain temple from the outside, ancient looking stone building but once you step inside your jaw would hit the mirrored floor. Every bit of this temple is covered in glass imported from Belgium. Its a 15 minute walk from the palace through the mouth watering Sarafa Bazaar. Reached late after closing time and had to request the guard to let us have a quick look through. He even showed us the difference between the original Belgium glass and the local replaced piece. Worth a look.
