Ok incredible place. We went with the DelfiniaMilos tour from 10 am to 1:30 pm for only 30 euros. We stopped for half an hour at Geronas also flawless and 75 minutes at Kleftiko. It is infinitely worth it to go snorkeling in the caves to see the bottom. Incredible landscapes, clear blue waters. The best we did in Milos.

We took the scenic route which runs along the sea by quad (ATV) I do not recommend it by car, it is better to take another path which arrives on the other side less spectacular but more accessible for cars. Then arriving at the small wooden sign indicating Kleftiko the hike begins, about 45 minutes of walking, we follow the small piles of stones until we reach the water. The landscape is great and the decor with this clear water upon arrival is memorable. Access to the water is easy and swimming to the rock is not complicated. We can reach several places thanks to large rocks. I recommend going early because there are fewer boats and the sun is less harsh for the hike…

I went there with a boat tour from Agia Kyriaki beach that went to Kleftiko and was supposed to made a stop at Gerakas beach at the return which was canceled due to weather. This resulted we stayed for 1,5 hour at Kleftiko, which was awesome! One of the top moments in Milos, diving with the pirates.

Our boat tour provided us with free fresh water, coffee and snacks, so you don't need to take something with you.

Keep in mind when swimming that there may be new boats arriving so you just have to be on alert.

Superb place with another turquoise and underground caves. Unfortunately after falling stones there is now a safety cordon that prevents going inside these caves. Some boats still cross this line... The place remains beautiful.

Kleftiko Beach was one of the beaches we experienced while on the Polico Sailing Cruise. The waters are crystal clear, and invigorating mid May but so worth swimming and snorkeling. We had the beach to ourselves and it was such a beautiful and relaxing way to spend some time during a day of sailing.

Incredible breathtaking aqua blue swimming ❤️
We rented a boat and our family explored this stunning nature of Greece. This is a must visit by an organized or rented boat. I can see why many yachts anchor for the day.

First of all, it is possible to walk to the beach. I'm a 46 year old asthmatic women who walked down in 40 min and up in 40 min in the heat (slow pace). You can't wear sandals, but you don't need hikingshoes. Sneakers are ok. The walk is beautiful! The reason they say you can only reach this place by boat is because the rental cars are not covered on the road leading to the beach. If you go in the dry season you can go, if you go easy and the road is not destroyed by winter rain. We went with a smal Fiat and survived ( however we are Norwegians and NOT spoiled with good roads. If you are only used to paved roads - take a boat!!!). We went from Ag. Marina towards Ag. Ioannis and took the bumpy road towards Kleftiko. You will not see a sign on the road where you should park, we saw another car and sort of understood. Somebody have tried to put up something to mark the place (see the picture). The path itself is however very easy to see and follow. When we went back to the city, we decided to continue the graveled road towards Xylokeratia and Psathadika. The road towards Xylokeratia is the worst on the whole trip and I wouldn't recommend it unless you have another type of car or 4WD (or my husband as a driver ha ha!). That was to and forth Kleftiko.
Secondly, the place itself is b e a u t i f u l and worth the trip, of course. However it is crowded - really crowded, and we were there in the end of June. I can only imagine how it is in July and August... And the tens and tens of sailboats bringing people back and forth are bringing people into the caves and next to the shore in small rib-boats in high speed. Some even play load music. Some even yelled at us, when we were snorkeling close to the cliffs in the water, and told us to get away because they wanted to go there with their boat. Oh well, we didn't let that bother us. The place is so nice and fun to swim in. There are caves and places you can swim through the cliffs. Great fun!
Thirdly, remember to bring more to drink than you think you need. It is difficult to find shadow and you'll need plenty of water (also for the hike back to the car).

Many people, especially the boat owners will tell you that it is not possible to walk to Kleftiko. It is not true. All you need is a car, better 4x4 to get to the west side of the island and good health condition to walk 1 h each direction. We were wearing simple sports shoes. We got there just before the boats were arriving and had Kleftiko only for us for 20 minutes! It was amazing! The path is well marked with white stones, it starts where there is a pole for a sign (sign is gone). It finishes on a flat stone and it's easy to get into water. Better wear water shoes and take your snorkeling mask with you. The path is well marked in the geo walks map of Milos. Enjoy! If you search Milos forum, you will also find the itinerary.
