the perfect week away
Aug 2021
me and a couple friends stayed here in the last week of august. we camped at the surfers paradise campsite, a 2 minute walk from the beach. we loved every minute of it. the beach was huge and sandy, the water was blue and perfect for a swim. it was quite busy but not overwhelming. we even went swimming at sunset and there was loads of surfers and other people still swimming, there was lifeguards too. it is close to different facilities and town centres. also very close to a caravan/holiday home park. will definitely be returning

Lovely family friendly beach
Oct 2020
This is a wide open expanse of family friendly gently shelving sand, good for watersports and out of season, dog walkers and with plenty of cafes and beach shops etc close by. Free toilets close by with plenty of parking.

Beautiful bay, lovely village with some great restaurants and takeaways. Very busy in summer but ultimately a lovely place to be.

nice little beach

personally, i think this is a great little beach (we parked at the National trust car park). Croyde is also worth a look itself, has a few nice shops.

Not great, all beach toilets out of order!!!!!!
Aug 2021 • Family
So disappointed with Croyde. Came a couple years ago and feel that it has lost its sparkle. All of the toilets by the beach were out of order which isn’t ideal especially when you have small children. The beach food place had ran out of most items and didn’t even have serviettes which again pain when with small children the place could do with a good clean aswell pretty grubby. Also note no dogs are allowed on any part of the beach in the summer

Understand that it’s Covid times but we really didn’t enjoy our day here at all. Also all the car parks are expensive. Won’t be back unfortunately.

Beautiful beach
Aug 2021 • Couples
We had a lovely day at Croyde Bay beach. Not the biggest in North Devon, but just as lovely and we found space that wasn’t too crowded. We had originally set out for Saunton Sands but parking was a nightmare, so we carried on along the road and found ‘Down End’ car park, really easy to access and pay via the RingGo app. There were also lots of facilities - free toilets, cafe, bar, surf school. The beach is a 5 minute walk!

Lovely beach etc

Good surfing and clean beach, could use some duck boards or similar as getting onto the beac is hard work in the soft sand, especially for young families with all their gear..

A Wonderful Week Away
Aug 2021
Can't fault Croyde Bay, it's absolutely beautiful. We were fortunate enough to be staying at the Ruda Holiday Park, so we were super close to the beach. It's a lovely beach, with no dogs allowed in the summer months. There are various surf schools who operate there as the sea is perfect for surfing and body boarding. There's a cafe or two almost on the beach and other food options nearby. We didn't want to leave, despite the sterotypical English weather!

This is a lovely bay and so good for surfing that hundreds of people come here, even on a cold and windy day (in August). There are toilets, surf hire, wet suit sales and cafes available within a short distance.

Great beach
Aug 2021 • Couples
Location: very good location, if you enter via the CB5 entrance just off the main road. It’s a bit of a trek down to the beach over the rocks as there isn’t a proper path.

Facilities: On the car park next to the main road there is a Cafe which is good but pricey, 2 outdoor cold showers but only 1 works. Both men and women toilets also.

The Beach: Very clean and beautiful white sand, there is a sign saying take your litter home which people seem to adhere too. When the sea tide starts to go out it goes out very far be prepared to walk. The waves are excellent for surfers and other activities. Multiple rock pools to the edge of the beach.

Only thing that’s makes this beach not 5 star for me is if you come to the beach from the south west coast path it’s a bit awkward when carrying beach items.
