Well worth the 27 kilometers of bumpy and dusty road. One of the best retained lighthouses in my experience and a photographers paradise! Not for a small and low sedan as the road does get quite rough! As it is in the Ben Boyd National Park a $8 permit is required per vehicle. There are also a couple of diversion... More

Green Cape Lighthouse is accessed by a 20km dirt track - in good weather it is easily doable in both a 2WD and 4WD. It is then a couple of hundred metres along a boardwalk to the actual lighthouse, with informational boards detailing the history of the area along the way. These provide a great perspective of the history and... More

To see a light house and to expect the public to pay for parking i would suggest they repair the road. I think it was about 21 km of dirt track with corregated roads and loads of dust. Only to find you had to pay $8 to park I could not get to the lighthouse as i have difficulty walking... More

the place has great views and some walking tracks if thats your thing. serene and natural beauty. the only thing for us was we found it was bit too much of gravel road ( about 21 kms ) and the sign for national park fees appears after you are more than halfway in. plus there are no credit card facilities... OK it is a dirt road so toughen up princess, the view is worth the drive. It is around 25 km from the hwy but there are a few things to stop at on the way in there. If you can do it on a beautiful day you will be rewarded with breathtaking views. Take water with you.

Once you get over the 20km dirt road it is definitely worth the drive. Easy walk to the lighthouse and fantastic views, plus lots of various walks ranging from easy to hard.

The lighthouse gives beautiful views and is worth the trip. Do check out diastema bay lookout, it's on the same road several km drop the lighthouse and is awesome. The lighthouse will be windy so take an extra layer. The track is fairly well maintained, 21km of gravel track which if it's not been raining can be driven by any... More

We visited Green Cape Lighthouse in December after completing the Light to Light walk. What a way to finish taking in this enormous landmark up close which is quite spectacular and over whelming. We recovered with a cuppa sitting at the base of the Light house, breathing in the ocean air & taking in the stunning 360 degree views.

On an overcast day walked on an amazing path to the lighthouse. Good educational signs along the way . Impressive building constructed in 1883. Good viewpoint to see whales
