This is a lovely oasis - jump in, float down the lagoon. Enjoy the wild life. Get out at the end (150M??) walk back up and float down again. There are a few submerged tree stumps in the lagoon so watch out for them.

On arrival i thought just another park. To my surprise it exceeded all expectations. Great staff. Great surrounds. Very clean and meet a lot of good people. Springs were great. The only thing that really hit me was the midges. After i learnt to cover myself with sprays they were no issues. Great.

Crystal clear water and such an amazing experience floating down the current towards the stairs at the other end.

We did not have long scheduled for our stop and we had spent so long at Mataranka Thermal Pool, but when we arrived could not resist having another swim. Deeper and more natural than Mataranka but still with steps to get in and out of the water. It is just magical place and would return in a heartbeat.

A good location, unfortunately a lot of very smelly algae still on the springs after the wet, have swam here later in the season and a wonderful place for a swim.

I have stopped here many times and anyone with me is always amazed. If you are travelling through you have to stop to check it out. Relax as the current drifts you down streem to the bridge and do it again!

I recommend this pool as an alternative to others. It is very natural, so expect a bit of slime in the springs bottom. Great with a couple of pool noodles and only across the road from the very popular Bitter springs Resort. You can just float down through the springs. Refreshing especially on a humid NT day.

So much nicer than the "contrived" Thermal Pool down the road. If it's natural and relatively unspoilt you're after, stop at Bitter Springs instead.

The walk in to Bitter Springs from the carpark is relaxing and tropical. The springs themselves have not been modified much, apart from steps and platforms being erected so that you can get in and out easily. The water is deep at the entrance, with rocks and plants on the bottom of the spring. The water flows quite strongly and... More
