Worth a Walk

Go for a walk around this old river port which with some money and imagination could be the Echuca of the North.

Maryborough Queensland is a haven for Aussie history buffs, so many places to learn of the past. The present is great too.

This historic district of Marybourgh is a good place to ditch the car for awhile and hike around the old buildings. Many eateries to be found too.

Very well preserved precinct and a wealth of history of early settlement. Well worth a days wandering, great market too!

Went on a tour of the Bond Store Museum and the Military Museum in this area and was amazed at the amount of interesting items and stories existed here. It is very interactive and you see and read the personal stories of many people who have made Australia a great country. They have items from years gone by that make... More

Such a lovely part of Maryborough that is packed with beautiful old buildings. There are also a couple of museums to visit such as the Bond Store and the Military museum. You can have coffee at some very nice cafes in the vicinity and then go for a stroll by the river through to Queens Park and the Brolga Theatre.... More

A great place to stop to stretch your legs and to have a meal. You can have a very enjoyable walk through Queens Park, view some very interesting artwork in Gatakers Artspace, or spend a couple of hours in the Military Museum or the Bondstore Museum.

Bought a $5.50 ticket which provided entry to 3 museums - Custom House, Bond Store and Military - all venues provided wonderful insight into the rich and varied history of this old city. Strolling around Portside was an eye-opener and I visited on 2 consecutive days because it was so good. Great old buildings and history. A Must do.

okay for a walk on a Sunday afternoon, nothing much there to do. Needs a bit more in the way of attracting people there.

Such a beautiful area beside the river with many historic buildings and museums. You can just feel the history. Queen's Park is absolutely magnificent with plenty of tables and chairs for a picnic. The huge fig tree is a must see.
